TOPIC: Items in 'My Meals' and 'My Food' keep disappearing

August 02, 2012 17:03
Hello,

I joined this site a couple of days ago. I've entered lots of different food entries and saved some of them as a group in my meals. However, when I go to 'My Meals' and 'My Food' some of the items keep disappearing. Sometimes if I sort the items by 'relevance' instead of 'name' or vice versa they suddenly appear, but sometimes not.

I'm using a Mac, could that be a factor? I had to use my Android phone instead to add foods to my food diary as all my items seem to be listed there.

Anyone else who has experienced this or is there a member of staff who can help?

If not I think I'll log all my calories in a spreadsheet, its much easier than on here.

Hello,

Sorry for any issues. Sometimes when you are using the Android app to add foods and meals there can be an issue with the pagination of the page. The items appear to have a been removed, but they are just hidden and when the server resets at the end of the night they should appear again.

Will you please let me know if you don't see them after 24 hours? Also will you include the name of the missing items?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
Scott

I don't have a problem when I use my android phone. Like I said, I'm using my android phone to rectify problems I have when I use a webpage (on my mac).

I'm having the same problem today, the foods that are missing are not any particularly ones its happening randomly.

'My Foods' list now extends onto two pages. Sometimes though I only see one page with no option to go onto the next page. So I assume this is either because certain foods are missing or the option to go onto the next page is missing.

I sent an email to the address you gave me.

I've had a response from Scott saying that we have already covered a couple of the initial steps in the forum.

What initial steps have we covered?!

You seem to think I have a problem using the Android app and I'm telling you yet again that I don't.

I had an email from Joshua who said he's stepping in for Scott.

He said ' I believe earlier Scott was referencing to the initial steps being that you spoke once before in the forums, sorry for the confusion.'

I have no idea what that above sentence means.

He also provided no help.

Can you do a screen shot of the page, where the option to go to the next page is missing? My computer does this sometimes, but it's an issue with IE not loading properly, not an issue with MFP's site. So, I'm wondering if it's just your web browser having an issue or whether it's an MFP issue.

At the top of your food diary you should see the date. Next to that there should be arrows pointing both forward and backward and a calendar. You can click on the arrow to go forward one day or back one day. You can also click on the calendar to go to a specific day.

I am having kind of the same problem. The meals that I create just seem to go missing. I try to save them again and it says they are there. Then I go out of MFP and come back and sometimes they are there and sometimes not. They just come and go. BUT on my droid phone I haven't encountered any problems as of yet.

Hi,

I have reach out to you via email with some clarification.

Here is the copy of my email:

Just to clarify, are you seeing items disappear from your 'My Foods list on the same day that you have added something to that list?

If so, the reason you may not see all of the items is because of a known issue with the "structure" of the page. When you add items to the 'My Foods' list (or edit or deleted them) the pagination becomes broken and causes food items to appear hidden until the server re-indexes at the end of the night.
I looked into your account today and was able to locate 'rapeseed oil' in your 'My Foods' list.

Cheers,
Scott
