I like this quote I came across in my reading: Albert Einstein once said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.
That's me with letting go and eating crap. I keep doing it over and over, do I really expect the outcome to be any different? LOL It always ends with the scale spiking quickly in the wrong direction and me getting PO'ed and discouraged. Some day I might learn. I can only hope. I am back on it, feeling so much better I must say. Eating the junk is bad for my body and my mind. I always think it's crazy that I can gain 5-7 pounds in a matter of days, but Tuesday I was 158.6, today I was 153.4. That's just as crazy. 2 days of eating well and getting the crud out of my system and I'm back at my faithful weight that my body likes. Dear body, could you please like 140 instead?

Hey Black teamers:
Had a great day and feel completely in control this week. However I do have a problem I need some help with. I need some food suggestions. I need recommendations for Calorie dense nutrient rich foods. I am having the weirdest problem. I have these low calorie habits. Things I am used to eating all the time and I am no longer at a point where a "low calorie" diet is a good idea. But I find myself having so grab random things throughout the day to get the calories up. and even when I do I still end up right at a 1 pound a week deficit at the end of the day. which is the deficit I want....but problem is I have NOT worked out or trained at this point. If I dont get better at getting calories in my body then I am never going to get ready for next years triathlon season. Weird problem I know. Right now I am at 1830 calories for the day (500 under my maintenance) I am NOT eating anything after 7pm so guess who can't go to the gym tonight. sheesh weird. Anyway, I hope you guys have a good night!

Hey Team!
I realized that I never told yall about my shopping trip last weekend. Bought 2 sweaters, a pair of jeans, a skirt and a pair of shoes. In everything I tried on, I took both an 8 and a 10 into the fitting room...and in all cases...the 10s were huge! So, apparently the size 8 thing is not a fluke! And, if that wasn't enough...I bought a sweater today that is a SMALL! Mmmm Hmmm. Yay me!
Tomorrow, we are leaving to go to West Virginia for my college homecoming. We have a dinner date with my BFF and her boyfriend, whom I have not seen in almost a year and a half (aka pre-MFP, or 25 pounds ago). Can't wait! **Shuntae**

Andrew that is a dilema. I always have nuts, peanut butter, whole milk and get a good bread from the bakery with only 5 ingredients. the bread alone is 120 cals a slice..........add PB and that is a 500 calorie sandwhich. The fats are good and the bread is whole grain.

Yay on your shopping Shuntae! Size 8's are awesome. I realized when I was shopping yesterday my waist in a size 8. It forgot to invite my hips, thighs and rear along on the trip!
Andrew- I'm happy you are eating 1800, even if you don't hit your 2300, you are doing better. Remember, break up your calories into 5 or 6 meals. It makes it seem easier to hit 450 calories 5 times a day instead of trying to shove it all in at the end. Your days of grabbing a low cal snack are over. Now you are working to eat 5 small meals. Once you work out what equals your calories for each meal, you will be in really good shape and it will be easy. I'm shooting for 360, a meal, here's an example of a day for me. I'm also working to keep it to 45 carbs and 22 protein. I eat so little fat when I'm on track, I don't even worry about that number, I'm never over. Breakfast: Whole grain English muffin, laughing cow cheese, 8 oz , skim milk, 1 scoop protein powder Snack: 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, 3/4 cup fat free vanilla yogurt, 1/4 cup each strawberries, blueberries and granola Lunch: whole wheat wrap, 3 oz tuna, reduced fat mayo, apple, 1 tbsp organic peanut butter Snack: strawberry smoothie, almonds Dinner: 4 oz chicken breast, vege, sweet potato, fruit Nuts are good. Natural peanut butter is good. Potatoes are good. Sweet potatoes are really good. In that book I sent you, go into Bonuses and read Food1. It will tell you the 12 best foods to eat. LORI

Thanks Lori,
I am attempting to do the 5 small meals a day, I guess more than anything else I just need food ideas. Those were some great ones Lori. Only two of my 5 meals a day can be eaten at home. the rest need to get packed in my bag and brought with me. I have a feeling I am going to need to buy some more food containers and buy my own grocery store. This feels expensive. lol. Anyway I'm gonna post a similar thread on the food boards for ideas then I am going to the store. lol

Quickie....just got back from a marching band competition at our high school.
I arrived in the middle of a performance, by a "Spartans" marching band.... royal blue, little Spartan dude on their logo. "Guys! That's my high school," I excitedly told my children. Listened giddily, bopped to the drums and cheered wildly when they were done with a "Wooooooo, Gooooooo Spartannnns," and waited for them to conclude over the loud speaker, "Ladies and Gentleman, the Immaculata High School Spartans." Well, ladies and gentleman, they were the Spartans of Southern Lehigh..... deflate. How dare they take the name and color of my alma mater? Band fags...sheesh.
Speaking of band fags....there was some dude on the dance team.....ah, nevermind.
have a great night, my team. i send you all much love.

Try and plan a good dinner in your calorie range, then you'll at least have that for leftovers for the next day, then you're down to 2 'snack meals'. It's a lot of planning but once you get the hang of it, things will go easier for you. A protein shake and a piece of fruit can easily be a snack meal, as long as you don't mind the same things every day. I personally eat a lot of the same stuff over and over just because it's easy. Those cheapy Glad containers are the bomb! I just bought 6 cup size ones yesterday for $2.50. I'm going to make up our yogurt parfaits and keep them in the fridge so they are easy to grab and go. I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off today, I just sat down for the first time. Whew!
Took one that has been hacking up a lung since last weekend to the doctor today. 1/2 hour to base, 2 hours for the appointment and pharmacy, 1/2 hour home- he has a cold. Go figure. They gave him a decongestant. I did my mom duty, his lungs are clear which is what I was a little worried about. He's fine. All is well. And I left my cardio pump class half way through for that!
