Please, you have got to do something about these auto expanding ads. I have carpel tunnel and use a touchpad and cannot get around without the ads expanding constantly....!!

This is over the top annoying!!

AND

I actually like Methodist and highly recommend it, but the ads are behaving insanely. I love you site but am not sure how much more I can take......

Whine over....

Coleen :)

I don't get any ad's that I have to close out or get around in any way, are you sure you don't need a pop-up blocker or something?

The only ads I have seen on MFP are the ones below the Tool Bar up top and above the topic bar right above this section - nothing pops up from MFP so you are getting something else hitting you.

i guess the methodist ads just pick certain people to annoy. b/c i've just had the methodist ads come up on about 7 straight pages on mfp that i went to.

the ad at the top under the toolbar just expands to cover up half the webpage, all you have to do is close it but it's really annoying to have to do.

I haven't even seen any Methodist ads - I've seen Aetna, Jillian, and others, but no Methodist Ads at all.

That's funny that the ads are expanding - when I put my mouse over the ads I get my hand pointer - but unless I actually click - nothing happens. I wonder if it's the version of IE that is being used? Or the level of security, or pop-up blockers, or what.

Do these methodist ads come up when you visit any other internet page?

I'm also another one that has not see these ads/pop ups.

Probably a good time to run spyware/adware remover.

This is only for the HOUSTON area ... Methodist is a Hospital that has an ad at the top of the page ...

Methodist is a GREAT HOSPITAL in the Houston, TX area.

Yall have other ads that appear, I am sure. It used to be Jillian Michaels at the top, now it is the Methodist Hospital.

It pops down and annoys me too! But, it is free for a reason, someone pays for it, and the ads do.

I do have the Jillian ads - in fact I am looking at one as i type this...but mine don't open or expand or get in the way at all. Must be some sort of setting.

I am finding more and more of these stupid expanding ads on webpages...not to mention the ones that float and dance their way all over the page you are trying to see, and you actually have to hunt for the tiny "close" link to get rid of them.

Advertisers had better get the message that my time and eyeballs are valuable and if you p*** me off when I am trying to look at a web page, it does nothing to endear your product to me!!!!

The Methodist Banner is terrible. There are other free sites. Get it off of here.

Ok - I now stand corrected. I have never seen an expanding ad before just now...some IQ ad (it's a promo for signing up for some service for your phone but tricks you by having you complete an IQ test)...it did expand on me. this is the first time it's happened...and even then it was annoying - so I feel for you all with the Methodist one...and I am humbled by my lack of understanding earlier.

A great big OOPS - and sorry!

Just don't blame poor Mike!!!! He doesn't control what ads pop up. I think we need to start a campaign to Google Ads to get them to stop promoting those kinds of banner ads.
Any Twitterers out there that want to start an anti expanding ad campaign? (I don't Tweet!) How about that for every company that posts an expanding ad we encourage folks to visit THEIR COMPETITOR'S website.....bigsmile
