I would like to see a nutrition tracker for pregnant women. It could have features like tips for eating right and exercising during pregnancy and include a box to check off daily for when the prenatal vitamin has been taken. I know there are other pregnancy nutrition trackers on the web but I already enjoy using myfitnesspal and would like to continue using it.

Thanks!

MFP isn't a nutritionist / doctor / health care practitioner, they don't give specific advice.

What it is though.... Is a place to log it and use it as a paperless log that lets you easily copy from a prior day when you eat the same foods just by checking a box rather than writing it all over again.

For the prenatal vitamin thing you COULD go to
my home > check in > track additional measurements
add a line for prenatal vitamin and if you take 1 a day ( no idea on dosage / frequency) all you need to do to track it as taken is my home > check in > and put a 1 beside it when you've taken it.

You can also track it in your diary like you would track food. I did that for a while when I had trouble remembering to take my vitamins.

I agree with this request - I have used this app for a year now, just normally - now I am pregnant, there are numerous changes that would be beneficial:

1 - adding to your profile that you are 'pregnant/nursing'.... this should automatically UP the amount of calcium, protein, iron and add Folic Acid in as items that are recommended/allowed. I know you can do some rejigging of this manually, but it would be nice if simply by saying 'pregnant/nursing' just like you say whether you are female or male, that the recommended daily values change accordingly!

2 - I put my prenatal vitamins in daily as a snack/recipe. but of course - then it sends my Taken/Goal/Left totally out of whack - again, because of #1 above --- if the values changed for pregnancy, this may not be so much the case.

3 - it would be nice to see Vitamin A broken out as natural source vs synthetic - since natural is safer and you can't OD on it, but you can with Synthetic sources... right now, my Vitamin A is always frighteningly high - but I know it is from my whole food vitamins and foods, but still its a bit worriesome!

4 - most importantly - this app is naturally geared to weight loss / maintenance etc... for pregnancy, obviously most of us should be gaining some weight - it would be nice if it allowed you to put in your start weight and then did the recommended 'ramp up' for you (ie: I should gain between 25-25 pounds througout this pregnancy, but mostly in 2nd and 3rd trimester... etc... These are standard algorithms which should be fairly easy to build - and allow for some customization if necessary.

Please my fitness pal - make your app the BEST and pretty much ONLY app for pregnancy!!! We are so concerned about our nutrition and fitness during this period...

Yes, I agree! I am pregnant for the first time and I want to stay on the site to make sure I only gain a certain amount of weight and keep the activity level up and be ready to get off all the weight when the baby is here!
