Hi everyone,
I just wanted a bit of advice on exercising and working out and the changes that it has on your body. I went from doing no exercise (apart from general daily walking about) 4 weeks ago to trying to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. I've been sticking to this pretty well. At the gym, I tend to do about 10-15 minutes on the elliptical cross-trainer (65-75 cals burnt depending on effort) followed by 20-30 minutes on the bike (90-110 cals burnt depending on effort). I also stick to about 1500 cals per day intake.
I started this routine not to lose massive amounts of weight but to feel fitter and healthier and tone-up a bit. I would say, so far, that I've lost a little bit of weight around my hips/tummy but my bum and thighs seem to have got bigger! Is this normal?! I was slightly disheartened last night as I tried to put on a pair of tracksuit bottoms that had fit 2 weeks ago and I couldn't get them over my bum. Pretty frustrating to say the least!
Has anyone else experienced this problem or am I doing something wrong? Any help appreciated!! :)
