It would be great if we could have a way to input recipes and see the total nutrition and then be able to add and then put the number of servings and figure out the nutrition info per serving and then add to our menu if desired or just save for future use. I like to make up alot of my own recipes and I'm not sure of the nutrition info.

Thank You so very much for all that you do in making this site available fo all of us seeking the same goal - better health! You are a blessing to many!
There will come a day when I can no longer run - Today is NOT that day!!

I'd love this feature too.
At the moment I'm doing it all by pen and paper. I use the data bank to find values for individual ingredients, add them all up and then divide the values by the number of portions. These I then enter as values for a new food. Headache.......frown

Otherwise a great site.

I totally agree as well!! I am new to this site, having switched from Livestrong/The Daily Plate and I love the site but I would love a recipe function!

Totally agree! There are other websites that I have found that will do this, but since I'm fond of MFP, I then have to log in over here and save it in as a new food with all of the nutritional info. It would be SUPER NICE to be able to do it all in one site.

I also wonder about the 'remembering meals' function. You can make a meal be remembered, but the 'my meals' page doesn't allow you to add that meal in on another day. Why?

Thanks for everything you do to keep this site up and running! It's awesome and we ALL appreciate it!

I think you look up the meal in the search box, by the name you have given it, for the day and the meal that you want to enter it in. Then just click on it and enter it as you would for any other food item.

Yes, just do this and change the serving to what you think you are eating. If it makes 4 servings, put .25.

this is so funny - i was just navigating here to enter my daily meals for today and was going to post a comment about having a recipe builder. Weight Watchers online has one, but you have to be a paying member to use it.... Anyway the dev team could use the extensive food database to build a recipe builder?

Not to toot another websites horn, but there is a FREE recipe calculator on spark recipes.

http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/login.asp?whereFrom=welcome.asp

But yes, I too would like one on here so I didn't have to go back and forth and give my free business to someone else!

MFP is great and I've been waiting for them to add this function. As Amanda said, not to toot the horn for another website but......

I go to either recipezaar.com or nutritiondata.com to create a recipe and get the nutrition facts for it. Then I enter the info here at MFP under a unique name so if it ever disappears off my food diary I know how to find it again. It can be a bit of work but to me it's worth it to know what I'm putting in my body. :-)

I totally agree with all of the others.smile This is a great site, happy but I would love a recipe feature as described.love I make my own bread, in fact I make most everything I eat so there is a bit too much guessing when I just don't have the time to analyze all of my recipes. frown Also when there is somebodies recipe in the data base with a calorie count is there a link to the recipe so you know what is in it?huh I haven't figure that one out yet!embarassed

This is funny. I use another free recipe analysis site:
caloriecountabout.com
I have it bookmarked, then enter the recipe here.
I love this place anyway. heart

happy I agree with being able to put in ingredients for a recipe- like quite a few people have said here- I cancelled my ww membership when I came to MFP and I am thrilled with it- but it can be difficult when you are making a recipe and not know the NI..otherwise this site is awesome
