I did W4D2... the first three minute interval seemed harder than last time and of course was then dreading the rest of the runs. It didn't end up being bad and I actually ended up starting my last 5 minute run farther out of the neighborhood and ended almost the same place I did last time so that's good. One more run tomorrow and then on to week 5! I've also somehow lost almost 2 lbs between monday and thursday... not totally sure how that happened... even more so since I started my period thursday afternoon. I also went to a BUNCO party last night and ate way too many snacks! We'll see what the scale says on monday

Running helped kick me off that plateau I've been stuck on for months! Awesome! What's a bunco party? P.S. Yay, another new thread.

Bunco is a dice game, no skill involved... all luck. It's seemingly becoming more popular among suburban women. I got invited to the party by someone I go to school with (although her husband seemingly calls the game drunko ). It was alot of fun.. and the group she plays with takes turns hosting and they do it once a month. Mostly it used for socializing without the menfolk. All the guys seemingly had a bbq at one of the other houses.

Welcome, Sweettart! Good job on completing the first 2 weeks! ShellyLee, will you be starting W5 Monday? I'm planning on starting W5 then, but may end up repeating W4. Today's my "day of rest," and tomorrow I'll do a 4th day of W4.

Wow we rolled over again, this is thread #3.
In any case I still have not run W9D2 - The last time I ran was Monday. I tried to do it last night but it was a downpour and the temperature was 35 degrees. I did walk for an hour in the rain, but I couldn't run. My muscles and joints were killing me. I'm hoping it was just the damp that was making me so achy. blah. I want to run through the winter.

Healthymom2009 - welcome to the group! Sounds lik*e you and me are about at the same point in the program. I am thinking I'll repeat W4. I've done all 3 days of it, but I'm going to do a 4th day of it tomorrow. If I'm still having trouble, I'll repeat it, I think.
Wecandothis - it is so hard to do this in the cold, huh? How did you feel after your hour-long walk? Is there anywhere indoors you can run in the winter? I was thinking of running in my town's highschool gym when it gets cold. It was real cold the other day and I tried to run w a scarf around my neck, nose, and mouth. It kept falling off from the bouncing. ugh! haha

I'll start week 5 on monday or tuesday, technically I should start on tuesday if I run the same days I did this week. I try to watch the weather though as I run outdoors so that plays in as well.

Week 6 D3 - DONE (finished 9th week total on plan)
I ran outside, early am. It was definitely more chilly!! I had to wear my running hat and gloves. I saw this running scarf-type thing at my running store that is a ring that goes over your head and around your neck (or something like that). You can pull it up over your nose and mouth. Wondering if I'll need that here... I didn't have any water before I went out to run (crazy morning). Man, could I feel it!! My mouth was dry and I thought I was going to die I felt so awful. Well, some runs just aren't as good as others. Still, I completed the 25 min run with no breaks. A bit slower than last week, but I finished. Next time I will drink some water first - no matter what! Welcome to the newcomers.

I hear ya on the rain and cold, Its getting colder every day here and we will be getting snow anytime before the end of the month, so sadly since I don't have a car yet I'll have to live with the cold weather I starting wearing thermal undewear under my shorts or workout pants when I go out and stretch inside, cause even when its sunny here its not above 40 degrees this time of year. I've decided if its icy out here and when we get 3 feet of snow in one day lol and I can't run this winter I'm going to go snow shoeing. I can borrow my sister in laws snow shoes, and just head out for an hour or so LOL It will be interesting. I still want to run through the winter though, its just going to be really hard to do it outside and I really don't want to run only 2 days a week
In the words of your name WE CAN DO THIS
I'm heading out in a bit to do w7d1 so wish me luck! I am also proud to announce that after a 3 week plateau I have lost another 1.5 lbs!! HOORAY I am at 203.0 now so 3.5 lbs and I will finally break that dumb 200 lb mark LOL I'm crossing my fingers.

I'm a single mom so I try hard not to spend cash like that. I was freezing after my walk and had great pain in my feet, but probably because they were wet. I was soaked, my thighs above the knees, but again I was in jeans. I do not yet have the proper equipment or clothing for out of door running in cold weather - but I'm going to purchase a piece or two tonight! I'm not giving up! I am believing it was the damp and that I can do this in the cold without rain. :) Thanks!

Today was rough! I changed my goal (since being able to do 30 minutes) to running 3.2 on the treadmill. I'll get on, warmup walk for 5 mins which is.3 miles, then run til I get to 3.5. I might stop for a minute here and there, but I almost always do it. Today I had to stop more than usual, but I still did it. Took about 36 minutes. I drank a Redline before I started, and I was able to stay above 5mph...most of the time I was 5.3-5.6, which is fast for me! My HRM was being a jerk today, so I took i off after a few minutes...in past runs I've burned about 680 calories, so I'm guessing it's about the same today.
Hope you all have a nice weekend, keep up the good work! And welcome to the newer posters in here!

Hey i am in. I did W5D2 yesterday. This is actually my second time going through it. The first time I walked and jog. This time I am jogging and joging a little faster. Works really well with a treadmill.
Good luck everyone!!

That is a really good idea - doing the program a second time to increase speed. I'm going to try that.

I did w7d1 earlier, and it was great!! I ran super slow, but I could do the 25 minutes just fine, I went faster some of the time, and slow most of the time, I can't wait to get on the treadmill again and acutally work on my speed and know how fast I can really go.
Welcome to all the new people.

Congrats on the weight loss, Laurajoy!! I bet you lose another 1-2 pounds over the next week as well. Seems to me that when I break through a platuaeu (however you spell the dang word), I lose a lot really fast.
Welcome to the new folks :D
