Sounds like a plan ! I am new to this. Is there a goal in the challenge ? Or more of a chat topic ?

I'm new at this, too. From what I can tell it's more of a chat topic for motivation. Which is great for us that haven't excersied in a "few" years!!! I'm starting slow... I'm going to try for 40 miles this month. Did 2 miles this morning. Good luck in you're walking!!!

I am brand new to MFP (today is my first day, 8/1) and this is exactly the kind of challenge I need to get me going. I was able to do my walking today and I am feeling good. My personal goal is to do at least a 30 min walk in the morning and evening after dinner.

*Curious – any thoughts on if a morning walk best before or after breakfast?

Well I'm not doing so well on the August walking front!!
Was busy yesterday and today has been a vile day weather wise! Think I'm going to have to get on the cross trainer and do some exercise indoors today!

My fiance' and I, along with our 19 month old son (I always push the stroller for the extra calorie burn), went for a 45 minute walk this morning. We didn't go under 3.5mph, and MapMyRun was acting up, so I think we went somewhere between 2.5-3 miles? We will be doing the same tomorrow morning if the weather is nice again, and so I can find out how far we went...

I am not opting out of this challenge but am having some issues with my knee, so haven't walked for the last 2 days, will try to get back on track tomorrow or Sunday. (will have to discuss it with my left knee to see if it agrees!laugh )

I made my goal of doing at least two 30 min walks today - one in the am and again in the pm. I walked a total of 3 miles in all today and feel great. Tomorrow I hope to get one walk in before I go Zumba at 10:15am.

Keep up the great walking everyone. We can do this.
