Hi,
I'm trying to get a better idea of my weight loss, but the reports are lacking some basic features. For example, how can I export my weight into a standard format such as csv? The graph only provides a simple view without much statistics and I can't even see past a year. Also, I would like to see a rolling average line chart as described in the Hacker's Diet. For a good example of this, see the Android app called Libra weight manager. Currently I put my weight in TWICE a day, once in myfitnesspal and once in Libra so I can get some of these more advanced features. It would be nice to only have to use one app instead of two.
In summary:
(1) Ability to export weight, measurements, in standard format like csv.
(2) Ability to support more advanced statistics like a rolling average.
(3) Ability to graph/export past a year.
Any ideas for these? Do any of these features already exist and I just can't find them?
Thanks,
Kevin

They're not currently available features but the reports section is supposed to be getting an overhaul, not sure when the overhaul will be live but we can look forward to a better reporting system

It would be great if anyone can give us an ETA on the improved reports. Or at least a road map of features.

i fully support the original poster's suggestions--they echo my only real 'complaints' about this interface. i used to use another site that had a wonderful results-tracking system with charts and feedback reports which could extend for the entire length of time the user had been active on the site. HOWEVER, their community wasn't as interactive as MFP's and their iPhone app definitely wasn't as good, so it wasn't a tough switch to make :)

Also, seeing a rolling average graph is much more motivational and will keep you sane. No need to worry about every time your weight changes per day when your body is designed to naturally fluctuate like that. Your true weight will show in a rolling average and will ALWAYS be going down steadily if you are eating right. Sometimes I don't lose weight for 5 days, then BAM I'm 2 pounds under, I don't worry about it since my rolling average graph is steady 2-3 pounds per week. It's tough for a user to see there weight go up slightly for 3 days of starving themselves, when they aren't doing anything wrong!
Please please adopt this style myfitnesspal! P.S. Another user pointed out a site that looks similar to Libra at http://www.physicsdiet.com/. |
