I wondered if offering to donate our no longer fit size clothing to other members for the cost of the shipping? I would not be making any money on this but thought it would help others out who are working their way down in sizes without spending a lot of money?
Thanks

I think that is a terrific idea! There could be a "clothing swap" thread... and other members could do the same. I think it would be great!

Thank you for thinking of this Grammymax!

I just want to make sure it isn't again the MFP rules??? Hopefully someone will tell me because I too think it's an awesome idea but don't want to go against any regulations.

Oh congratulations and your so darn sneeky! I couldn't do it, as soon as I found out I called my parents, and we actually found out while we were staying at my in-laws in Houston, so they knew too! By the way I don't know how all you in the hot south can handle morning (or in my case day) sickness, I was miserable. Oh yea we were there in June of last year! lol

I have been thinking the very same thing, hopefully we can do some swaps! i would love to give my good clothes to my MFP friends. I just don't have the heart to take my really nice brands to Goodwill, I'd much rather give them to my friends.

I've been selling mine on Craig's List or on consignment at a local Plus Size Woman's clothing store and using the money to buy new sizes!!! A clothing swap thread sounds great!

Did anyone ever find out if this is ok with MFP, I have a lot of clothes I'd like to get rid of.

I just gave 3 trash bags full to our local women's shelter.
I just dropped them at the house, then what they don't use goes to their shop.

I am the one who asked and I have not gotten any response from the "head guys". I don't see how it could be harmful as long as we are just charging shipping charges and not making any money at it.?

A few MFPers tried to start this some time last year but not many wanted to participate. I even posted some pictures of clothes that I wanted to get rid of but someone came out and said that they would never wear someone else's clothes so... the thread died.

I have a few jeans that I would love to give away. I just have to find them wink

Whoever said they wouldn't wear someone else's clothes has more money than me wink I don't want to spend a lot on clothes that hopefully won't fit very long tongue What sizes are the jeans?

I was all for donating any clothing that I was not able to use. Some people just think they're too good for this sort of thing I guess. They may have money growing trees! Who knows noway

I'd have to check again. I'll let you know once I find them wink

That is a great idea- especially if you are in women's sizes-- good looking large size clothing is hard to find, and no one wants to spend a fortune on "transitional" (hopefully) clothing.

If you use the flat rate shipping boxes from USPS.com (or the post office) the rates stay the same no matter how heavy the box.
