TOPIC: sending report to my trainer

July 04, 2012 10:17
Hi friends,
I have a trainer in another state who has asked me to send him a snapshot of daily or weekly food including calories and all macronutrients.. can you think of a way to do that other than taking a screenshot of each day, doesn't come out well, you see a flash and not very legible... ideas?
Thanks so much!

Have him join MFP and he can just look at your diary directly?

Click "view full report (printable", orange button in your food diary, beside your water intake.
You can view calories, carbs, fat, protein, cholesterol, sodium, sugars and fiber, along with each food note. And you can choose to view multiple days at a time.

This and I then use Snag-It to capture a scrolling window and then email it

If you are on a PC, use Print Screen (button up the top that says PrtSc) to capture a jpeg of your screen
Then open Paint (or other bitmap editing software)
Go CTRL+P to paste it => There it is

or on a Mac do a cmd, shift and F4 => It will be saved to your desktop

Even easier than using the built in function of taking a snapshot of what is on the screen (doesn't involve a camera)

is to get the trainer to sign up for the free site and friend them, if you share your diary with friends they can then see it.
OR if you don't want "all" your friends to see it you can lock it with a key and give the trainer the key. They can then come to your profile, use the key, and view the food diary as you have it set up (calories and your up to 5 optional columns)

Or if you're less tech savvy, print out all the reports you need, scan them to a .pdf, and then send everything to your trainer.
