Hi all, I am Teresa and this is my first post....
My Fiance and I are going to USA 31st July for 14 days. We are going to NYC for 2 nights, then sleeper train to NOLA for 5nights, leaving us 6 nights to hire a car and travel back to NYC to return home to the UK. I am hoping some of you could help us decide where to stop off on this road trip. Just looking for ideas really.......... do not want to do one big city after another! I love Art and Music, my finance likes war stuff, writing and socialising.......... hope you all can help xxxxx

Make sure you go to the Rock & Bowl while you're in NO. Great fun!
And the Rum tour is good value if you like rum.

Definitely head up through Memphis to check out Graceland and Memphis Blues. I'm sure you'll hit Civil War sites along the way. Cut across to Nashville for more music scene, up through Lexington KY area for a tour of bourbon distilleries, then the second star to the right and straight on till morning :)
