I need help. I am 48 years old. Weight 143lbs. 5 ft 1" tall. I am a stay home mom. I do walk at least 5 days a week for about 75 mins. I try and do 5 miles in 75 mins. My question is how many calories should I be eating? My BMR is 1163 and TDEE is 1802. I would like to lose 2lbs per week. . I am eating a lot healthier than I used to. I have only lost 2.4 in 2 weeks. I see a lot of people are losing weight on MFP. So I am at the right place. Just need to gather the right info and get going. Also am I suppose to eat my exercise cal or not. PLEASE HEL ME !!!!

I say log EVERYTHING, exercise, food all that. and trust MFP to work. set it to two pounds a week. MFP allots for all that stuff. As far as eating back your calories, that's always a personal choice, if you feel hungry then by all means eat them, if you don't feel hungry then don't force yourself to eat them back. Good luck to you and you can add me if you want!

OK, you don't have an awful lot to lose, so 2+ lbs in 2 weeks is fantastic!

1200 per day is the minimum that you should be eating - try that for a few weeks and see how it goes.

Seems to me by what you wrote you are doing everything right. Slow and steady wins!

If you are eating lower than your TDEE you should be losing, I would eat at maybe 1500 calories a day? SO that you aren't starving but you are still losing weight.

2 lbs per week may be a bit aggressive with these numbers. You are short in stature (by definition, not a problem except you have less caloric room for adjustment) and only need to lose about 18 more pounds which means you are close to your goal which means maintenance for your goal weight is close at hand. You may want to increase your activity to a higher level than you currently have but otherwise, you are fine. Keep up the good work.

That's amazing progress. I think 1 pound a week is a great rate and it shows that you're probably doing everything that you need to be doing. If you're on a 500 calorie negative rate then you should continue losing about a pound a week. Don't forget to take measurements too because some times you might be "stuck" at the same weight for a week or two and that helps to confim that you're still doing the right thing even if the scale doesn't move.

Good luck.

^^This! With not much to lose, to even drop that much in two weeks is great!

I would say eat around 15-1600 because you are active however your age/metabolism will catch up to you so that is a great range to be at!! Good Luck
