TOPIC: Water tracker

I find the even bigger challenge for me than eating healthy is drinking enough water to stay hydrated. I just never get thirsty enough and just forget to drink and it is a struggle for me to keep track of how much water I am drinking. A water tracker would help so much.

remember to not wait until you are thirsty to drink water! by the time thirst kicks in, you are actually already slightly dehydrated!

Yes, MFP designer gurus, please add Water to the list of trackable nutrients on the Nutrition report.

Food > food diary
bottom left corner is a picture of a glass, with a counter that you can hit the up arrow to increase or the down arrow to decrease.
It's a picture of a glass, the glass can represent whatever you want (to the left it "says" it's indicating cups but it's YOUR log) if that means you use it to count how many 500mL bottles... 36 ounce bottles whatever just so long as you know what it indicates.

At the bottom of the food diary is a water tracker. You just touch the up icon to add water to your log. I agree with the other poster, when you are thirsty you probably are dehydrated.

Once you start drinking it you'll realise how dehydrated you really are. Just force yourself at first and it'll come naturally.

If you're forgetting to drink you water, keep a bottle with you. You'll probably start sipping without realizing it.

When I started drinking water, instead of other drinks, I implemented a reward system. When I had hit a goal of drinking so much water, for example 4 glasses, now 8 glasses, I would then allow myself to have one glass of my drink of choice (pop, Kool-Aid). It really helps me stay on track for drinking water.

I actually started craving the water when I began to drink more every day.

Try something with a straw to drink your water out of. It helps me just keep sipping because I'm not opening and closing a top. I use this at work (got mine at Walmart for $1.76) http://www.buy.com/prod/h2o-on-the-go-jr-1-lt-water-bottle/221019887.html
I take the screw on top off and use a straw from a tumbler. I'm able to just keep sipping.

I use this at home (used to use this at work until I remembered I had the mini jugs, mine was free) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003WWUCOC/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003FZBI7G&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0TA9T4R9HFMG5PPHES12 . Again the straw helps. Just sit it between you and your computer and try not to down all the water in 10 minutes :)

The daily water log is nifty! I like watching it fill up.
By "tracking", I thought the original poster meant keeping track of water as a nutrient over time. That's what I want to see, so I can correlate it to my weight loss/gain and calorie intake. See if the common wisdom advice is true, you know?

if you'd like to be able to do a report on water you CAN add it as a "measurement" under
my home > check in > track additional measurements
just enter at the end of the day the number that you'll use to "determine" your water... did you hit your 64 ounces every day and then see a scale result? did you come up short on the water etc.
