Hey, Ive noticed their are alot of minors on this website and they are giving out pro ana tip and tips on how to purge and what to do after purging. Its disgusting and unhealthy. Can there be a way we can report people with possible eating disorders who post pro eating disorder tips? the minors in this community really make it an ugly one with all the drama and support for eating disorders :/

You can report discussion board posts that are pro ana. Contact a moderator if you find an underage person because the terms of the site don't allow underage people.

Minors - site TOS state users must be 18 or older

Pro ANA - again, site TOS states no pro ANA.

Just hit the report post button on any topics that you see that contain minors or pro ANA. Alternately, you can always PM Mike or Steven.

Just report the posts, and don't respond, their are new people showing up daily and its impossible to keep tabs on everyone.

Not all minors are like that though. I initially signed up for this website as a minor (but thank God I just turned 18) and i know many others who have signed up as minors as well..but to lose the healthy way. A few have been reported just because of their age and myfitnesspal has deleted their accounts. Not really fair, but whatever.

I have seen posts like what you're talking about but a vast majority of them were not minors. I've seen 20 somethings and even 30 somethings say really digusting stuff in regards to taking drastic measures to lose weight. For example I saw someone post that they want "to be so thin that they could dance in between raindrops" or "be so thin that you dont ever have a shadow."

My point is, dont just target the minors, ITS ALL AGES.

Okay, so I added a new friend a few days ago. I didn't read their board before, I never really bother but I found out she has a serious ED. She's way taller than me (5'9 and a half) and aims for 120lbs. *sigh* I feel so helpless.

I have to agree with Hallie on this one....the pro ana I've noticed has come from an older age group mostly 20's but I'm sure it's in all ages.

I just looked at some girls profile because she said she couldn't wait to get into double digits, and her goal is 78 lbs?! Yeah, I think she has a major problem. Said she was 18 though.

HOLY CRAP I DIDNT REALIZE I GOT SO MANY REPLIES!!! Yes its all ages, i joined this site almost 2 years ago, and at the time of this posting i felt like the pro ana posts were booming. it seems much better now! Thank you all for you input!! Stay healthy my friends!!!
