Any chance of one being offered?

why? its not like there are a lot of adds.... Its one banner and one sidebar.

So do I. The ads are an annoyance and I'd be happy to pay a few bucks to get rid of them.

I wouldn't pay for an ad-free version unless it included better photo management and the ability to track and view more nutrients on my daily food diary.

Because...?

Why on earth would a site like this need an ad-free version? I don't even see the ads.
July 18, 2012 02:49
I also wish there was a non-ad version, because the ads drain my phone battery. I use this a lot less because I wait until I am at home to use a pc to access it.

*edit* I didn't realize there was an iphone app which is ad-free, so no more visiting the normal site. *faceplam*

I'd like to be able to pay for an ad-free version of the Android app.

I have a limited bandwidth plan through AT&T. So far I have found that ad-based apps are what push me close to my bandwidth limit until I have to uninstall them. I would _much_ rather pay once for an ad-free app than pay every month for the next higher plan.

Absolutely agree. The Android app is full of ads that are invasive - it's very easy to click on them mistakenly when trying to add foods etc., which then opens up an internet page (at least on my Galaxy 3 it is). Gah!

I just very happily paid for the AlcoDroid application. I used the free version for a week, it worked great, so I bought the ad-free version. The transfer of data was perfect. I just backed up the data I'm collecting through the free version onto my SD card (with a single click), then installed the new ad-free version of AlcoDroid. It automatically saw and imported the data I'd backed up and I was off and running. Nothing could be easier.

Having developed my own Android apps and considering how many ad dollars those apps received, I can't believe you wouldn't make more money by having an ad-free version of MyFitnessPal for $2.99. If you ever decide you want an easy paycheck, upgrade MyFitnessPal so that an ad-free version's available. And if you're looking for the right way to have the upgrade work, I suggest you check out AlcoDroid. They seem to have done it right.

I think if they were to create an add free version of the app they would probably have to improve it somewhat, bug fixing etc.

Count me in for an ad-free android version!
Would be willing to pay up to 5$ for it

If there was an ad free version then the ability to post in forum topics on it would be an advantage.

I would also LOVE to pay for an ad free version. Hell, I would pay up to 5 bucks. I hate the silly ads, and I feel like this app is worth it, it's a great app. The ads just really annoy me, especially when I'm hungry. :) Pleeeeaaase make one available.

MyFitnessPal - Ad Free / Premium would be hugely appreciated. Am looking at others such as FitBit and LoseIt! as alternatives.

I'd support a paid version of this app as well.

I'd happily pay $4.99 for an ad-free version. Especially one that linked to the forums from the app.

Yeah, time to look at something else. The ads are annoying to the point of me dropping myfitnesspal. God knows there ARE alternatives out there. And like many, I'd pay for an ad free version. But it appears myfitnesspal is making TOO much money from the advertising to make an ad-free version. Hence.... adios!

If you can find an ad free version, then move away from this site, obviously MFP is making money from adverts, this is called capitalism. The ad do not bother me, I log my food in advance, print a copy and walk with it to work . My phone batter is too important to keep logging into MFP.

I'd pay for the ad free android app. They don't bother me on the pc because well, the screen is full size and i'm not on metered internet.

+1 for ad-free website and Android app. See for example endomondo.com which offers these options.

Add my vote as well. I paid for the iPhone ad-free version, then switched to Android and was quite dismayed to learn there was no such option for Android. Please.. please.. please... PLEASE make this available!

I would gladly pay for an ad free version on Android. No changes needed other that get rid of those ads I seem to touch accidentlu every day. I don't ever even read them.
April 29, 2013 20:41
I would also pay! I don't recall the android version having ads in the beginning. I don't know how many times I've accidentally clicked on it lol.

That's the worst! I really do not like ads, especially when they're by the keyboard. I seem to click the ads only when I'm building a food item and have just memorized the calories/fat/protein/etc for an item and want to type it in. Then I click an ad, get mad, and forget the values. It's extra annoying when you've got a restaurant's nutrition builder open and took the time to build your burrito and the ad hijacks your browser and messes it up. Ads. Blech. Did I mention I don't like the ads?
