Femm - How's Shelby doing with the new routine? I know at first I felt really bad about letting mine cry it out, but it did seem to work.

C - I hope you start feeling better. I always love getting ultrasounds, so hopefully this one gives you some good news. Is it possible that your baby's had a growth spurt, and that's why things have gotten uncomfortable for you already? Has baby dropped? My first never dropped, so I never got the bad belly pain.

Right now I'm just so tired... still. My little guy is so active, and loves to run, be chased and be tickled, that I just get worn out. Plus with waking up during the night, I don't think I'm getting the sleep I should. Since 2nd trimester is supposed to be when you feel the best, I'm not really looking forward to the 3rd right now either. I'm already feeling like I waddle when I walk, so I'm sure that's going to get progressively worse as well.

Halloween was really fun here! Trick-or-treating went well with 3 1-1/2 year olds and a 2-1/2 year old. We hauled the little ones around in wagons, and just got them out to run up and knock on doors. Costumes were cute - we had a monkey, a cowboy, a garden gnome, and a pack of Smarties candy. The kids mostly liked playing together afterwards.

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well, how are you all doing?

I have been MIA lately just busy with life in general. I finally am starting to feel good and hope this lasts for awhile at least. I had to start wearing the maternity shirts now. I feel so big, but i am doing so much better with my eating now that i am not as sick anymore. The hunger seems to have calmed down a bit too.

I have chronic cough that just won't go away and it sucks when you have to hold your belly to cough. There is nothing i can do to get rid of it either, just wait it out and hope it goes away.

Oh no ohwell Sorry to hear about the cough. My co-worker had a cough like that with her last pregnancy and it seemed to last forever frown I hope you feel better soon. flowerforyou

I had an appt today. it was a quick one. Everything seems to be looking good. Baby kicked the heart monitor at my last two appointments LOL! It's hard not to laugh when that happens.

Doc said we can see the baby next time!! With their new 4D ultrasound machine! We didn't get that with our first so this should be pretty cool.

Hi Girls!

Sounds like you all are doing pretty well; glad to hear it!

alapointe - sorry to hear about the cough but happy to hear you are not sick anymore! Yeah!!!

Jenna - I do not know how you are keeping up; sounds exhausting!! Does your little one take naps? Maybe you should nap along with and put off chores and what-not for weekends. Your Halloween sounds fun! I may have to steal the garden gnome idea! I love it!!

I am the same. Maybe with more pep than I had Monday because I have been laying low but my legs are bothering me really bad still. They are retaining so much water and are so heavy and sore. I honestly do not recognize them they are so big. I had no idea my legs could be so large. Only 47 days to go yawn I gained 6 lbs in the last 2 weeks but all my clothes fit the same and I honestly think all that gain is water retention in my legs (yikes!!).

I am worried a little by how bad I am at being pregnant. I have always wanted 2 kids but the thought of going through this again makes me anxious. I am really just no good at this and it does not seem to agree with my body! wink Maybe baby #2 would be easier??

Chuffmn- I am one to tell you that it is hard to think about #2 after a first rough pregnancy but it does get better. My first pregnancy was horrible and i did not want to go through it again and it did take me 4 years before i even wanted to try, but alas your heart wins out.

Even though i am only 16 weeks this pregnancy is soooooo much better than my first. I had a rough first trimester with #2, but it still wasn't as bad as the first pregnancy. As hard as it is to believe while you won't forget about your misery during pregnancy, the pull to want to have another one is stronger.

I used to say i wish there was a way to have my own child without the 9 months of hell before hand. I didn't even mind the labor and delivery of the first one, it was just the pregnancy that was horrible.

Just think it is almost over and then you can hold that beautiful bundle of joy in your arms.

dude. i totally wish we could have babies without the 9 months. i would deliver the baby drug free and vaginally just so i could skip the 9 months. laugh honestly, #2 isn't much easier. if anything, it's harder because you're chasing #1. laugh sad heart but it's worth it. i went through hell my first pregnancy and i'd do it again if it meant giving me my daughter. she's so worth it.

i hope you ladies are feeling better. just remember, this is only 9 months of your life for 18+ years of "happiness". laugh bigsmile

he he femm I have to say i am pretty lucky not to be chasing #1 since she is now 6 which makes this so much easier than if i had a toddler running around.

Everyone is different though. Everyone i know loved being pregnant and i feel so horrible sometimes that i hate it so much.

pregnancy sucks royal tush. laugh i like babies but i hate being preggo. the only cool thing is that when you're caught sitting on the couch eating straight out of the take out canister, no one can really say anything because you're preggo. laugh

Hi! I've been lurking the last few days and wondered if I could join you guys?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my second. My daughter, Harley, is 14 months and exhasting me! She is climbing on and getting into everything! My house is a mess because as soon as she sleeps, so do I!

So far I don't "feel" pregnant. I have my first doctor's appointment in the end of November the day before I'll be 9 weeks.

I LOVED being pregnant with Harley. I so wanted the huge belly and never got as big of one as I wanted. When I was almost due my mom told me I only looked maybe 7 months pregnant and I was disappointed whenever people told me "You don't even have a big belly!" grumble Am I the oddball here? LOL

Welcome Loreeb!

You really liked being pregnant? I wish i had that experience but i guess it is not to be.

I am actually already so big and only 4 months. I have been in maternity pants for a month and half already and started on the maternity shirts this week. GRRRRR! I just spent a year loosing 70 pounds now I am putting it back on. It is for a very good cause though. We tried for a long time to have a little one then gave up with the economy tanked.

With my first i never really looked pregnant because i was big to begin with, but i never got the belly up front, just got wider. I actually never wore maternity clothes with my first one, just regular pants with elastic bands.

I really don't mind being pregnant either. flowerforyou

This is my second.. I wasn't sick with either pregnancy. I would say the hardest for me is these last couple of months. Belly starting to really stick out there, feeling like it's constantly stretching, no room for a full meal.... harder to turn over in bed at night, harder to get up, harder to walk the stairs. Just gotta give myself a little extra time to carry around the extra weight. A few aches and pains, but all in all, I have enjoyed it both times. smile
I LOVE love feeling them move!!

I don't care so much for right after when your belly feels like jelly laugh and the getting back into shape part... while caring for a newborn. But it is all truly a blessing flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

I'm right there with you, Tiff. I don't think I'd choose to be pregnant all the time... I don't LOVE being pregnant, but I don't mind it. I haven't had any morning sickness, just tired, and a little lower back pain. I'm just getting to the point where my belly actually feels heavy, and things are harder to do. Feeling the baby move is my FAVORITE part of the whole process.

I also agree about afterwards. I worked so hard to lose weight after my first, and as soon as I got right where I was starting to feel good about myself, I got pregnant again. It's almost like yo-yo dieting grumble But, having that little baby makes it all SO worth it.

I am not sure how I feel about being pregnant. This is my first & only pregnancy and I feel great with the exception of being tired. I have an over protective husband who is so worried about me getting sick with anything. Our son (mentally disabled 17 year old) had a slight cough for part of a morning (no other symptoms) and he would not let me near him just in case he might have the h1n1 flu. Oh well. At my last appointment we got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was AMAZING! I think it made my pregnancy more real for me. I have managed not to gain any weight yet, which I am excited about. I am almost done with my first trimester. I hope everyone is feel good. Have a great night!smile

Well it is great to hear that some like it and i don't feel so bad that others don't like it like me. I was so sick that if it weren't for the end result there would be no way I would do it again.

I love feeling the baby move and i have been able to feel it since the 14th week which is great. I have had to have an U/S every month so far so I love to see the baby and how it is growing too. It is just such a long time to have this little baby inside you and the anticipation is killing me.

It is starting to get hard to bend over and pick things up and I am only 4 months. I am so big in front with this one so early it is weird for me. I never got big in front with my first one.

Have a great weekend everyone. Take care of those little ones inside you.

*gag* I hate boogies! I never flinch when Harley throws up on me or gives me a bite of her pre-soggied food. But I still have a tough time with boogies. If my husband is here, I turn away while he cleans it up. *gag* sick

Hi Girls!

Lorreb - you crack me up!!

I have to share with you girls the frightening experience I had on Friday:
Went in for my 10am ultrasound at my OBs office. They wanted to check the baby for growth since I have single umbilical artery (it's routine for SUA). I went alone because my husband had a full patient schedule and I really wasn't worried at all. They start the ultrasound and all is good at first but then she gets to the heart and starts really looking close and has a concerned look. She says to me that she is a little concerned about the heart because the left ventricle looks larger than the right and they should be the same size. She tells me she will have the doctor explain to me and come talk to me once we finish. She moves onto other areas but then comes back to the heart again. She asks me if I can possibly have my husband come down; now I am feeling uneasy. She then excuses herself to go find the doctor. So, my OB comes in and explains that she looked at the ultrasound and sees that it does in fact appear that he left side is bigger and they are concerned about blood flow. She tells me she is sending me over to the specialist right away and does not want me to wait the weekend to have an echo-cardiogram; I am instructed to find my husband. So at this point I am scared. I ask the OB what the worst case scenario is and she tells me the different things that could be wrong (problem with valve, hole in wall, etc.). I ask her what they would do if they did find a problem that needed immediate attention and she says there is a chance the specialist would want to do and emergency C-section followed by open heart surgery. I am white as a ghost. I get a hold of my husband and completely break down. He cancels his patients and takes me to the specialist. I then have an echo-cardiogram which is like an ultrasound but more fine tuned (they can look into valves, etc). The tech tells me she sees nothing to worry about! Whew!!! I then speak with the cardiologist and he says the findings look good. I have never been so relieved!!! At no time did I think it would be nothing. I have never been so scared.

Today I had a non stress test at my OBs and not only did the results come out great but my OB spoke with me about Fridays incident and made me feel really good.

In my opinion the tech at my OBs office was looking to find something knowing I had SUA. I truly appreciate them looking so closely and keeping track of me as well as they are but that was just down right scary!!

I have a follow up ultrasound in two weeks and then another echo in four weeks. I also see the OB every week now and will have a non stress test weekly. I am going to be a straight up regular! (Norm!!) LOl! Ugh... high risks pregnancies are SO STRESSFUL!!!!!

Other than that....laugh Only 42 more days to go...

Hope you all are well!!

Hugs!

Yay! I'm so happy it all turned out great. How freaky though. I'm so sorry you had to go through that but at least you know that you already love that baby unconditionally. heart Some moms get worried they won't feel that connection. But you have now gone through SO much that once that baby is born, you are going to LOVE that baby SO much. No doubt about it.

Keep us posted! flowerforyou

C - How scary! I almost started crying just reading your story. Thank goodness everything turned out ok.

Femm - LOVE the booger pic! That is the perfect pic to describe life with a toddler. Too cute!!

I had a regular checkup yesterday, and everything is moving along fine. My glucose test came back normal, so no worries there. I got to schedule another ultrasound for next month, which I'm so excited for! I'm really hoping we'll find out boy/girl this time.

So, at work, I have tons of vacation time to use up before the end of the year (use it or lose it kind of plan). Today I took the day off just for fun, and scheduled a facial, pedicure and haircut. It was exactly what I needed! My mom came and watched my little boy, and I got to go out and relax. I highly recommend taking some time for yourself and doing something like this... especially for all the first-time moms out there. Things change so fast once the baby shows up, and you get less and less time for yourself. This afternoon, we're having a play date with a little girl in the neighborhood, so that will be a fun end to the day.
