Yeah alapointe!! That is such good news; I am so happy for you!!!

My sciatic is flaring like mad and I am practically paralyzed BUT I am chipper wink I think I may need some physical therapy and plan to talk to my doc next Tuesday at my appt. Thankfully my hubby is a PTA so he has been doing some exercises with me but the common ones I cannot do because my big ole belly is in the way bigsmile Doesn't seem to take much for me to over due these days. Getting in shape after all this is going to be so tough! Thank goodness we will have our support group!

I just sent a few of you messages about "The NEW Preggo Platform" and I think we should just disregard that one and continue with this one. Sorry about the confusion! I didn't realize it just started a new thread on it's own!

SORRY!blushing

This Friday is in 3 days!! CRAZY Tam!!!! Oh, I just can't wait to see pics!! Will you have friends and family at the birth and some help after?

Tam, what about you? Have you progressed any in the last couple days?

We have so much painting, moving, and reorganizing to do. I can't wait to get started on it all but it is looking like early Oct. will be our first opportunity to really start setting up the nursery. What have you all used as far as paint goes? I found milk based paint online and it sounds safe but I am wondering how it looks on furniture. Any suggestions?

Welcome firegirl! How far along are you?

Femme - will you be having a shower being this is your second?

Have a great day girls!!

Morning ladies!

firegirl...WELCOME!!!!! And CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Yes...how far along are you?

Tam...FRIDAY!!!!!! I can't wait to hear all about your new little guy!!!!!! YAY!!!

Cris...I don't know much about paint. We didn't re-paint anything. The nursery room was already pained pale blue and sort-of a cream color, so we left as is. The furniture is all natural wood. So, sorry I can't help you out there. But excited to hear about what you end up doing!

alapointe and femmerides...how are you ladies doing?

Me...huge, covered in stretch marks, covered in this itchy rash, tired, heavy, sore...this baby is already trying to kill me!laugh My husband keep reassuring me that it's only for like a week longer and that I can tough through it, but I must say, I am pretty miserable anymore. I just keep picturing the wonderful bundle that this will be giving me!

Well...back to some work! I'll check back later! Have a great morning!flowerforyou

Hi ladies!

I'm doing well. I'm getting really frustrated with my weight though. I was 192lbs when i got pregnant and went down to 188lbs but now i'm 198lbs. explode I didn't want to get over 200lbs this pregnancy but it looks like that's not gonna happen. sad so i'm kinda upset. I know that I can just lose it all again but it's so hard. I mean I lost 70lbs before i got pregnant with shelby, gained it ALL back, lost the 70lbs AGAIN then got pregnant with this one. i WILL NOT gain it all back. I'm not really trying that hard which is even more frustrating. i just can't seem to get up off my butt! SOOO frustrating. i keep saying i'm going to work out but never do it. and i keep making excuses. angry so TECHNICALLY i' ve only gained 6lbs but i just feel flabby. like all my muscle is turning to fat. lol. i can't wait til i'm like 39 weeks. that way there's nothing i can do about it. i'm hoping that i can maintain this 6lb weight gain til 20 weeks that way the last 20 weeks will only be like 10lbs. that would be awesome!

so i think i'll have another baby shower but probably only if it's a boy. realistically i should have one no matter what because my hubby and i got rid of almost all our baby stuff when we thought we were moving to New York.

Okay, so I HATE being pregnant. I can't control my emotions and I eat all the time and I'm lazy and not motivated and just grumpy all the time. this is how it was with my daughter too, just MORE this time. SO, i'm SERIOUSLY considering getting a tubal ligation. My husband and I always wanted 2 kids and that was it. Our insurance is so good that a tubal ligation is just $20 (the copay). it's also $20 for a vasectomy. so does anyone know about the side effects for a tubal ligation? i've heard that it can mess up a woman hormonally. not sure. if that's the case, then i'm gonna have my hubby get a vasectomy.

anyways, i hope you're all doing well. welcome to the new comers! congrats! and i hope tami and kistin have BOTH their babies by friday or this weekend! bigsmile i think that'd be rad.

have a great tuesday ladies!flowerforyou

Oh femmerides! It makes me sad to hear how miserable you are. I understand the frustration with gaining weight. I've gone/am STILL going through that. I had promised myself I wouldn't gain more than like 25 pounds this pregnancy and have gained about twice that! Before getting preggo, I was starting to get Ab lines...AB LINES!!!!!! Something I had NEVER had before! And now all that muscle is gone! It will take a LONG time to get it back! So...I can relate! But...I calm myself by saying that this baby is worth it, and I know I have the motivation to get back to where I was. I KNOW I can! And I already plan on starting a post-preggo thread after I'm done here so as you gals have your babies, you can join in and we can lose the preggo weight! WE CAN DO IT!!!!!! And I don't know anything about tubal ligation or a vasectomy...sorry I can't help you there. Hope you have a better day!flowerforyou

I don't know of tubal problems offhandedly.... but I know vasectomies don't cause problems so...... And recovery time is a day for a guy, weeks for a woman (although you'll be giving birth at the same time, yadda yadda yadda). I dunno.... I'd probably not mess with your plumbing and have him snipped! laugh

lol. yeah. i'm thinking it'll be easier all around for him to get snipped.

man, the weight gain is what kills me. after my daughter was born it took me 9 months to get the motivation to LOSE weight. i had already lost like 35lbs after she was born without doing anything but the last 35lbs were brutal. i was working out like CRAZY! it was hard though. she needs so much attention so i'd just work out during her nap time or super early in the morning before she woke up. well now i'm gonna have TWO babies so when am i going to have time???? ugh. oh well. i'm trying to enjoy this pregnancy but it's so weird. for example, when i lay down, my belly is pretty much flat. i can feel my uterus and i can feel it growing but it's still totally small. well, when i stand up, it's like my muscles refuse to be sucked in so it's just a fat belly hanging out over my jeans. NOT a baby belly. it's so frustrating. i'm 14 weeks and i shouldn't be showing because my uterus IS NOT that big. and i'm not showing. not really. i just look fat. lol. ugh. i know it'll be worth it but why do we women have to go through this crap? why can't men do it???? laugh sad lol. man. sorry, a mini rant. it just gets frustrating at times. i know what i'm capable of. i mean come on, i've lost a total of 140lbs. lol. this time around it shouldn't be too hard. right??? i hope not.

Femmrides you are awesome! I love that you admitted that you hate being pregnant!! I felt that way the first 16 weeks too!!I have a friend who is just 4 weeks behind me and she thinks it is all a joy. Ugh... When she had morning sickness she thought it was cute and she actually said it cracked her up that she wasn't sleeping well at night and was so tired everyday. How is that funny? Needless to say we have not been very close throughout our pregnancies as I was too miserable to listen to her nonsense. It must just be easier on some than others. I have a tight knit group of friends who all hate being pregnant. I mean they admit that parts of it are cool but for the most part it is really just plain hard. You get fat, feel like crap, you are hormone ridden, don't sleep, have awful aches and pains that you cannot take anything for, and then you get to the last part with the stretch marks, and the bowling ball and EEEKK! I still say the second trimester is where it is at. Even though I can barely stand, it is nice to not be evil anymore and to feel lots of baby movement.

Just remember, you will have control over your emotions again and start to feel like yourself very soon (should be in the next couple weeks). You will have a little more energy soon too and feel more like exercising some. Also, let your body do what it needs to do and try to come to grips with the weight gain. Might as well make the best of it because it is what it is. You WILL lose the weight and we will all be here still to support each other through it. I have never felt more out of shape in my entire life. Walking from the couch to the kitchen feels like a chore some days but I just keep telling myself it will not last and it won't!! Oh, BTW, I found this awesome book online called Pregnancy Sucks: What to Do When Your Miracle Makes You Miserable http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Pregnancy-Sucks/Joanne-Kimes/e/9781580629348 . I totally am buying it!

Hugs!!

Hey Femm - Just use this web site to add up your food everyday and then have your hubby watch both kids for one hour 5 days a week so you can work out.... I would think he would benefit from you being in shape too wink

Hey Ladies!

Femmerides - I hear you on the gaining weight. I had decided to be very careful and only gain the 25-30 pounds... pfft! Yeah right! I did ok for a little while, but with all the pregnancy changes, I just wanted to eat what I wanted, when I wanted, and be happy. So I'm still trying a little, but mostly doing what I want. After my first baby, I actually managed to get down smaller than I've been since starting college (with the help of MFP), so you definitely can lose whatever you need to after the fact. You've got some great support here, so don't worry about it too much (maybe just a little bit), and try to enjoy this time.

So sorry for those that are hating their pregnancies... I've been so lucky, and I know I am, so I'm thankful for it. My morning sickness has only amounted to a little bit of nausea, and I'm mostly just tired. I've been waiting for my 2nd trimester relief to come for that, but so far no luck. I haven't had a lot of hormonal mood swings, but I think my husband is probably the thankful one for that. laugh I don't especially love being pregnant, but it's not so bad for me.

Can't wait to get the updates when you're little man arrives, Tam! Good luck; I know you're a strong woman, so you'll do great.

Kristin - I hope you get your 9/9/09 baby like you wanted. I think that'd be pretty cool too. flowerforyou

Have a great day, everyone!

23 weeks here. Second baby. (Weeehadababy Eeetzaboy) Anyone remember that commercial?

Anyway, I hate being pregnant. Third one, lost twins last nov. Lost all the baby weight from the first two pregnancies when I lost them. (I gained nearly 70 pounds and had only 10 to go when I got preggo with them). Morning sickness, heartburn, exhaustion and general discomfort describe my pregnancies. For the whole nine months.

Anywho-I'm doing good weight wise this time-using mfp to track my food. My new blackberry can log in foods (the bold) so I'm computer free when I need to be, and don't have to guess later at portion size or just what exactly I ate that day.

Other than that-nothing to report.

Oh yeah-I'm being induced at 39 weeks. Pre-e with the first and losing the twins made sure that I would be considered high risk-so they're not going to take any chances.

Finally Rae; I now have someone here who is right at my same stage!! Yeah!! drinker
Really sorry to hear about your losses. I cannot even begin to imagine how hard that must have been. I am on my 3rd pregnancy with 2 past miscarriages but the longest I made it was 9 weeks before. This time I am high risk due to having SUA (single umbilical artery) so I may very well go early too. My pregnancy has also been tough and I feel like total crap most days but am just trying my darnedest to just be happy it's happening... So are you being induce the week of Dec 7th then? My due date is Dec 21 so all the more reason go want to go early. I just hate to think my little one my have XMas in the way of a great BDay every year. If so, I think a half BDay will be in order! BTW, your little girl is absolutely adorable!!

Hey guys...sorry I've been MIA today! Ugh...trying to get some last things done.

I am very excited AND nervous. Getting cut open is never FUN!! ohwell tongue But at least it's planned this time right?? wink

K, hope you go on the same day! That would be cool!!flowerforyou drinker

Femmer - Pregnancy/weight gain/, etc...is not always fun! I hit my goal weight the same week I found out I was pregnant!! (after losing 135 lbs!)LOL! I didn't even really get to enjoy being there or even work to make sure I could maintain. Talk about a trip! So, I have my baby weight to lose again.........and work at the maintenance! You will be great. Just try not to stress about it. Just keep telling yourself that it's only temporary. I know the months of pregnancy seems like forever but it's really a small amount of time in the grand scheme of things. You'll get back to where you were!! wink

Hope you are all well today. I can't believe it's almost done! Wow...time flies. Going through divorce at the same time helped, I'm sure!! ohwell tongue laugh

Ciao 4 now!! flowerforyou

Welcome Firegirl.

I am so glad to hear others finally tell me that they hate being pregnant too. I can't stand it, but the end result makes you want to go through it all again.laugh All the women i talk too love to be pregnant, and i feel so guilty that i hate it so much.

I am sick 24/7 these days and having a lot of trouble on my commute to work. The car is bad, but the train is even worse. I am praying that the morning sickness doesn't last the full 9 months this time.

I can't wait to see pictures of your new little ones soon.
