Is there any way to delete the items in "my topics"?

Not directly.. perhaps you could by getting the post itself deleted...go to the post in question, click report post and state you wish it deleted, it's your own post so should just be able to be dropped.
My topics is a gathering of your 25 threads you've posted in with the most recent activity, so sometimes you'll get posts from a year ago creeping up in there.
