TOPIC: Sorting food database entries by number of confirmations

Hi All,

I find that for any given food there are usually 10-15 entries in the food database, many of which differ entirely from one another in the nutritional values, and some of which are totally incorrect! So, I try to find the ones with the most confirmations to ensure that I use a description of a food's nutritional value that is actually correct (or at least agreed on by multiple people). But it takes forever to look at every single entry and see how many confirmations it has.

Does anybody know how to sort the entries in the food database - for a given food - by number of confirmations?

Alternately, does anybody know how to put the MFP entry (the one the MFP people put in, which tends to be correct) for a given food item at the top of the list?

This would save a lot of time!

thanks!!

Neither are currently available that I've seen BUT when searching for something the first time going
food > database
and searching for the food there MAY make it a bit faster, as when you select a search result on the left, the nutritional info is AUTOMATICALLY displayed on the right without having to click something to see it, doing it that way you do lose the "number of confirmations" but it's pretty easy to tell when you can see the info... just looked up "bluewater haddock" the first result said 200 calories... close to my box but had 0's for the rest of the info... so I won't use that one tonight, found one that matches calories and has additional info so I'll use that one...

the only trouble with this route is you have to copy the name and go back to food > food diary
pick a meal and click add food, pasting the name you found via the database, really wish there was just the green button right in the database to add straight to your diary.
