This looks great, but what are chia seeds and what does it do to calorie count if left out. I live in Japan and not sure if I can get or even want to add.
Thanks

You don't cook it. It "cooks" in the fridge overnight. You eat it cold.

overnight oats are not cooked.

Pure delicious.

I do overnight oats with just oats, blueberries, milk, and in the morning I mix in a little vanilla protein powder. yummy.

Chia seeds are kind what makes overnight oats work. It makes all the stuff gel together and, well, work.

Also super health benefits - 0 net carbs, 3g protein per tbls, and a boost of omega 3 with some delightful fat grams. i.e. don't omit it :)

I've made them with chia and without chia several times and they work ok without, so don't be discouraged from trying these even if you can't get chia seeds!

Sometimes I do a very simple version with just rolled oats, fat free yoghurt with fruit already added into it and apple juice.
