Any one have suggestions? I washed my fitbit yesterday. Emailed customer service, and they suggested putting it in rice for 24 hours and putting it on the base station to reset it. No luck as of now... I emailed them again for more support...
Any suggestions? I tried searching the boards, I must be the only Idiot whose done this here.
Oye!

I jumped in the pool with mine!! Unfortunately the rice trick didn't work and I ended up purchasing a new one!! Now I attach it to my coverup rather then my bathing suit!! I feel for you!!

Another trick for dead electronics is (once it's dried out) to put it in the freezer for a bit... but I suspect it's a goner at this point :( Poor fitbit :(

The first one I washed (yes, i have done it more than once) remained dead for about 10 days. Then it came back to life. It seemed to not hold a charge for more than a day or two afterwards.

As a side note. The first one I washed in an old style washing machine. The second one I washed in a High Efficiency washer and it never missed a beat. I just wonder how that washer manages to clean the clothes if it can't wet an electronic device enough to kill it. ohwell

Good luck with yours. BTW, both of them went through the washer and dryer.

Contact them. Believe it or not, they will give you a one-time complimentary replacement.... their facebook page is full of similar posts... I've seen comments that they have even replaced fitbits for people that flat out lost it.... which is unheard of.

Agreed. I have heard MANY stories of people who got new ones for free. Shoot them an email...what can it hurt?

I also washed mine a bit ago. I felt really stupid for doing it too. I love my fitbit. Its been a while since I let it dry out so I will try connecting it again and see if it works if not I'm definitely going to contact them and see if I can get a replacment.

Side note, while it stinks that this has happened to us its nice to see people post about what can be done and such.
