@tootsanderson--I don't like the diet creme soda, so it's better for me to just try to get use to only water
@trhjrh06--Thank you!! I do have a little willpower, I just have to grow it stronger I guess. I have been drinking only the flavored water, a little bit of milk and regular water. I miss the carbonation though can't lie :)
Friday fitness....... I am on my last day of week 2 Turbo Jam beginners rotation. REALLY loving it! I am also on day 5 of 30 day shred level 1. Saturday and Sunday are off days for my Turbo Jam, so I will continue to do the Shred and probably add in a Biggest Loser workout DVD to keep me on it. I don't feel right when I take a day off. My grandparents are having a BBQ for Fathers Day Sunday and my favorite thing ever, is hot dogs on the grill so its going to be tough. I think I will need to drink ALOT of water while I'm there to keep feeling full so I don't eat too many!

Friday Fitness
Hit the gym this morning and for the first time in 2 weeks I had a very peaceful workout. The heat and humidity are back and my knee is still bothering me (slowly getting better though ) so I will probably skip my attempt at walking part of my trails this afternoon . I went down to my pool with the hopes of doing some water aerobics but my neighbors had other plans. Too many air matrices in the pool.

I would like to be in. I want to lose over a 100 pounds although that number scares me. I have been doing really good since I started on Monday, but I heading into the dreaded weekend. Really nervous that I will not be as good as I need to be over the weekend. I would love any suggestions and friends :).

Joining this ! c: I love seeking support and being supportive wherever I can.
Friday - Fitness (what are you doing to get fit?) How are you preparing for weekend eating? For fitness, I do a bunch of cardio . Speed walking for an hour or two really gets me in my zone ! I've also tried Cardio Blast and Cardio Hiphop today...both kicked my butt ! haha . I pretty much prepare weekend eating as I do with a weekday . I prepare my meals separately from my family . And if someone is buying takeout , it typically doesn't effect me in any way .. I stay driven lol .

I failed today because of the office party but I have been jogging to get fit. I have the two best supporters- my labrador retrievers, who run with me ever time. lol. and if i just want to colapse after work, they will annoy me until i get the leashes out.
Here is to getting fit!!

1 more thing..
I cant believe I'm saying this but.. By my 2 year anniversary on here I want to be able to walk/run a small event. I don't know anything about running but I want to get there!! Think it can be done? I have at least 120ish pounds to lose and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I have problems with my sciatic nerve and muscle spasms.
I don't know but I need some goals in my life!!
Take care all!
Lynn
@ Lynn- you absolutely can do that!! I have never used the C25K but have heard lots (more than 25) glowing reviews from people about it. Check out a copy of runner's world magazine- in the back they have listings of all kinds of races. Also if there is a local running store you can ask if they have any website recommendations for local races. All else fails- you can google races. I would suggest finding one that doesn't have a time limit or has a very lengthy one, that way if you end up needing to walk more of it then you won't feel pressure. In SEptember it willb e 2 years ago that I did my first race. My BFF since high school and I walked the Air Force 1/2 marathon. ( I know I kind of jumped into this backwards, have never even tried a short race) You had 7 hours to finish so we figured that would be more than enough time. We finished in a little under 4 and a half hours. I loved it and have completed 4 more races since. I would also encourage buying a really good pair of running shoes. Once you are doing more than the "casual walking" the extra support of a running shoe will make a world of difference. Again if there is a running store in your area or a sporting goods one that would be the next best choice. When is your 2 yr anniversary? Find a race close to that time and sign up. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

We don't fail, we just sometimes take a time out- that's all. Its just part of life, and a big part I have learned is how do adapt and bounce back after a less than wise choice and not beat myself up about it. Try and get some extra water in today and add a few extra minutes to your walk. And your cheerleaders will not doubt thank you for it, and you will feel better yourself as well.

Ihave so many challenges. I really need alot of support. I want to lose 160-170 lbs. I am 55 and have RA and OA as well as COPD. I got some major lung damage from an RA medicine I was taking last year...Arava. I am on oxygen 24/7.
So, I started out with a fruit and veggies only flush for 3 days. This is day 3 and I am down 6.5 lbs! I know its alot of water weight, but I needed the big drop for encouragement! LOL

Hello everyone and happy Friday - weekend... we are here! Woohoo!
Friday fitness - still using my exerbeat program for wii, which I love. I also ordered a zumba for wii program that should arrive mid-week next week. I am looking forward to trying that after hearing so many of you like it so much.
Have a terrific weekend everyone. Welcome newlings!

Welcome to all of the newlings!
Sorry, don't have time to respond to everyone tonight, so just a few comments:
@ushkii--great job with meeting your cycling goal!
@tina--good luck tomorrow! remember no matter how you do, you're still lapping those still sitting on the couch!
@everyone with blisters--get fitted for new shoes!!! If your shoes fit properly you won't get blisters. Go to a store that specializes in running and get fitted by a professional. Ask lots of questions about the arch support, etc. so you will be able to choose your own shoes in the future.
@tonia--I also want to try zumba--am planning to lok online for some zumba videos I can do at home (I hate classes).
Friday fitness:
As most of you know, I decided to re-do c25k at a faster pace so I will continue with that. Also, I am doing some core and upper body weight machines at the gym to try to get ready for the obstacle 5k I'm doing in a couple of weeks. As far as weekend eating--I decided to try zig-zagging my calories again b/c on the days I run, I burn close to a thousand calories and just can't eat them all back. So far it's going well and now I have quite a few extra calories for a Father's Day cook-out at my parents. I also offered to bring my quinoa salad that I love, so no matter what we have to eat, I know I'll have something healthy and yummy!

Well I went ahead and did my run on the treadmill. I did incline it. Not sure how much because the treadmill doesn't say what incline it's at. But I inclined it. And it did make it harder. But I did the whole 25min run non-stop!
It was mid 90's today after work and I just didn't want to push my luck in the heat before my race tomorrow which is why I used the treadmill.
Getting really nervous yet excited about my 5k tomorrow!!! Going to bed soon because I have to get up at 5:30! Yikes.
Have a goodnight and weekend everyone!

how do I join? I would like to find a positive, motivating group for people looking to loose more than 100lbs. I am working at this every day and finding a group that I click with would be really great.

@brigara- welcome, you just joined!
How do I get my children- most importantly my 2 year old to understand that in order to complete successfully my Friday fitness she has to go to bed so I can get more than 5 hours of sleep! That little stinker. Hoping to be in bed soon. hope everyone has a great Saturday!

ah, understood. i actually hate creme soda so i'm not sure what the difference would be, but i'm sure my creme soda loving husband would totally be in your camp.
