TOPIC: Completely Un-interested...

Seems lately, I have found myself completely un-interested in food. It's strange, I don't even really wanna eat chocolate ~ and for a self-proclaimed chocoholic that is concerning wink The thought of making food sucks, OF COURSE I still eat... but I unless someone else makes it... it's a struggle. I have never liked to cook, and now that I have lost an interest in food in general, that has become even more difficult. Of course I am not concerned that I will end up with an eating disorder, I could NEVER do that... but this whole thing is odd to me. Am I alone here? What can I do?

I actually think this is awesome. It sounds like you are using food for its purpose of nourishing and moving on. I think this is very healthy and nowhere near an eating disorder. If you were avoiding it but obsessing, then you might have a problem, but the fact that food has no emotional pull on you is terrific! If you are getting enough calories, I wouldn't worry about it. flowerforyou

ETA: I also hate to cook, so I completely understand the hassle of it.

You're not alone. (and i can't leave your thread just hanging here all alone) I found after changing the way and what I eat I could care less about cooking dinner now. For me it's quick, easy and usually weird combos thrown together that I would never serve to another person.

And i used to LOVE cooking. And baking. My poor kid--she's been eating STORE BOUGHT!! cookies (i know--bad mother) I haven't baked cookies since March break--and that wasn't even at my own house :(

I started cooking up big batches of stuff on the weekends and freezing them so i have quick lunches and dinners for the rest of the week.

This chocolate thing is very concerning. I think you need professional help.

To be honest, I would agree. I think that there can become a point when you're either dieting or do have an eating disorder where food is an obsession, you think about it constantly and deliberate a multitude of choices before making no choice at all. Saying you've gone off of chocolate isn't really a negative thing is it? If you're wanting to eat healthy and have a healthy lifestyle then most women would love to say that they've gone off or are not tempted by chocolate so I can only see it as a good thing. :) You say you've never enjoyed cooking but what cooking have you done before? Perhaps making something nutritious, light and simple will make you solidify your relationship with eating healthier and give you something to be proud of and also, something to enjoy so that food becomes something to look forward to rather than a chore?

You've crossed over into the realm of eating to fuel your body instead of eating to comfort the soul! Way to go! Next goal... Hire a personal fitness chef! Preferably one that does dishes!
