After scanning a bar code and adding that item to the food diary, the item does not get added to either the frequent or recent item list. Which means the next time you want to add the same item to the food diary you either have to re-scan the item or find the item within your food diary and copy.

I noticed this too. It's very annoying! I also would like to be able to select my favorite foods and have a menu of them instead of MFP guessing which I use most often.

I think if you go to Settings and turn on "Show all meals for favorite lists" that should help.
