A little math help here please? Long grain white rice i have 8oz cooked so how much is that uncooked? I'm confused because its goya canilla long grain rice and it's saying 600ish calories for 8 oz but i don't know if that's cooked calorie amount or uncooked calorie amount seems verryyy high

ok what, that does seem a bit high for 1 cup of cooked. what doe sit say on the side. Rice does expand when your cooking it too. but 600 cals is way to high for rice, maybe 210 but not 600

Rice gets bigger when cooked. You really don't need a cup. It will be a TON!!

A cup of cooked rice should be 200-something calories. If you look in the database it even says "cooked".

According to my Mahatma long grain white rice package, 1/4 cup uncooked = 3/4 cup cooked...so apparently it triples in size when cooked, according to the package. I don't know what kind of rice you are using, though. Does it say anything on the package about the serving size? If you have 1 cup of cooked rice maybe you could log it under 1/3 uncooked. I don't know if any of the listings in the database are for cooked rice, i've pretty much seen uncoooked?

Yeah your cup of cooked rice is not 600 cals. Search the input for cooked rice, it's around 200 for a cup.

You realize all the water you put in just goes into the rice, right? Of course it will double or triple, depending on how much water you use.
