How is 28g not a serving size?

I can't do grams?

See the second field, that you've left blank? Fill it in.

I've seen this error before too - it comes back even when you fill it in!
I think it is to do with having a space (or not having a space) in the measurments.
Try entering 28g instead or 28 g.

Thank you for trying to help, but I assure you that I actually know what I'm talking about. It has nothing at all to do with spaces, as either "28g" or "28 g" is acceptable. It is simply caused by exactly what I said above. BOTH fields have to be filled in, or you get this error.

Huh, I've learnt something today! I was sure that adding a space to the serving size fixed the error - but I must have been adding the extra info at the same time.
Thanks.

I always test before providing information.

You could try 28g, 1 stick.

Sometimes it works if you add extra descriptors.

The error you're mentioning needs "fixed" it's mis-labelled... "please enter a valid serving size" leads you to look at your serving size be in 1 cup, 1 stick, 28 grams, 1 ounce etc... it's generally not that.

There are 3 fields REQUIRED to enter a food.
Serving size - what you "eat" as a standard serving
Servings per container - how many of the standard servings noted above you can get from the package...
and
calories
you can leave everything else blank as long as you enter something in those 3 fields. Please don't leave the nutritional info blank though making the entry useless to others.

IE a 454 gram package of something with a 100 gram serving size...
gets logged as
serving size 100 gram
servings per container (454 grams / 100 grams) = 4.54
NOTE you do NOT use units on the second one, it's looking for a number value.
calories and other nutritional info as per label

I almost stopped using this website b/c I thought I had to enter volume "1/2 cup cooked" instead of weight (50g). Thanks for the replies on this post, that's a really bad error the web devs made to give the wrong error message.
