Tina- TOM does play a major factor in weight gain and loss. Don't get discouraged my it too shall pass.

Goals for June-
1. Make it up the intermediate side of the rock wall at least 3 more times.
2. Make it about 2/3 of the way the advanced side.
3. Lose 4 pounds
4. Engage in interval workouts at least 3x a week for 30 minutes each time.
5. Drink at least 15 glasses of water a day.

Tuesday goal - take advantage of the fresh fruit and veggies that are starting to be available so much now.

I have not been on MFP long. I went off track about a month ago and gained 12 lbs. I am restarting the process and need encouragement & any tips that would help. I have been working 10 hour days so finding a time to work out at all and eating properly is tough. I try not to eat too late at night but is really hard for me. I have lost about 1.5 lbs after being back the MFP site. No set plan to follow just watching my portion sizes and trying to avoid junk food etc. ohwell

Helena, Torani and Da Vinci companies both make sugar free syrups. Jell-O is certainly cheaper if you only want to make the pie rarely, but, if you find it becoming a regular recipe for you, maybe consider the syrups.

I use almond and peppermint syrups all the time for flavoring my protein shakes. I know a few people who use the fruit flavored syrups for their greek yogurt. A fantastic blogger makes a yummy looking fruit dip too( <---personally, I think their website kind of sucks. It's hard to read. You will find at least some of their syrups on too.

And if you have a Smart & Final near you - they carry nearly *all* the Toriani sugar free flavors!

@Robin_T Thank you for the suggesting Torani. I never thought of using that in Greek yogurt.

@Andrea The fruit with jello and pudding sounds really good. Thanks!

@skinnyjeanzbound One hour of cleaning / yardwork each day sounds great. I'm afraid I tend to work in spurts. laugh I think consistency would be a good goal for me.

@Drivendiva Lemon Mediterranean Chicken sounds great! I'm thinking that if the weather was hot, I could probably make that in the slow cooker.

@ihawkins1975 Hmmm... fruit added in... that has some possibilities. ... thanks!

@Vickie I don't think we have that store near us, but I'll check out the local Dominick's (Safeway).

Well, I tried the Greek Yogurt Pie with cherry sugar free jello instead of strawberry, put it in a premade graham cracker crust, and frosted it with fat free cool whip. It was much better. I'm not sure if it still qualifies as healthy with those changes, but it was definitely healthier than I may have otherwise brought. I also brought the low sugar cheesecake.

Tuesday Goal - make it thru this week ! I'm on vacation so that makes a big difference in my daily schedule. I'm also taking care of my 17 yr old daughter who had all her wisdom teeth cut out this morning noway She's in need to say the least!

poor thing. i remember being miserable when i had mine out. and i was in my 20's at the time. and no one told me not to drink from a straw so i got dry socket. ouch. i wished i had my mom so i'm sure your daughter is glad you are around to help.

Wednesday already, where has the week disappeared to? Got up early and jogged/walked and so glad I did. THe moon was gorgeous when I started and the sunrise was just peeking over the treetops as I got home. I'm still tired but it felt so good to go and sweat and clear my head. Many days this is my only quiet time until the kids are all in bed.

My Wednesday wish- to keep my salt intake under better control, yesterday was not stellar in that regard. But I did get in 10 cups of water, I also wish to get the rest of the laundry finished! My final wish is that everyone has a wonderful day today!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Had every intention of getting up early this morning to go to the gym but I didn't quite make it.

My Wednesday wish is to workout every day, get in lots of water and watch my carb intake since that seems to be my trigger for gaining/maintaining before I leave on vacation next week.

My June goals are to:
1. lose at least 10 pounds
2. exercise every day
3. strength train 3x week
4. get in 10 cups of water daily

@skinnyjeanz:: I think I am going to go ahead and do the 5k. Trying to get my SIL to do it with me! I think it would be nice to have someone to walk/run with.

@Helena:: I love the new profile pic, you can definitely tell a huge difference. You’re looking great!

@Lauren(lhawkins)::: I feel the SAME way about the running thing. Monday I was able to do the 20min run fine and today I did week 6 day 1 which is the 5min-8min-5min run with 3min walking intervals was more difficult for me…weird! But we got this! I am thinking of doing the 10k training one after my C25K is done!

@Lauriek::: Thanks, I’m not discouraged really just frustrated with myself for weighing daily I can’t seem to stop. Maybe my husband needs to hide the scale..hmmm. But either way TOM is stupid so yeah lol

Wednesday Wish:: My wish for today is that I get off this plateau soon. I know I lost last week but because of TOM I gained it back. Which I know it will go down so hopefully Friday is a good weigh in day for me. I will NOT weigh myself tomorrow morning!

I am new to the group, but my main goals are to lose 10 lbs this month (June). My daytime job is sedentary, so I plan to lift weights about three times a week and get in at least 30 mins of cardo (Zumba, Kickboxing, cycling, jogging) I am eating low carbs and bringing in more fruits/veggies to the plate. I look forward to reading all your success stories and hopefully as I am encouraged, I can go on to encourage others as well.

Hello everyone,

I would be happy to lose 10lbs this month, but I"ll be content with just 5lbs gone.

My Wed goal would be to get my water intake to 8 cups. I hate water, and can't seem to drink enough. I've switched half my water to Crystal Lite but then I feel like I'm cheating. <sigh>

Kids have ball games tonight, and I need to get chicken feed. And get to the gym. And finish laundry before I need to start it again!

I've been watching my carbs a bit closer. Had bbq burgers a couple nights ago, and willingly ate them without a bun!! That's a first for me. I cooked up some fresh onions & mushrooms and had them on the patties. YUM :)

I have also had a weak ankle lately so it's been hard to get my time in on the treadmill (which I enjoy). The recumb and upright bikes at the gym are fine, but I don't get as good a burn. And been trying more weight routines, to build some muscle.

Hi! I am very new to the site but I'm liking it so far. This is the perfect group for me! I had gotten to the point where I could barely recognize myself anymore (I added about 140 pounds over 5 years and then took off 40 over the last two years). Now it's time for me to get really serious about getting rid of all of the extra weight!

My goals for June are to log my food on MFP every day, even logging any slipups that I run into, and to complete the 24 hour fitness challenge (24 hours of exercise in June). The June challenge will be, well, a challenge - I really didn't exercise at all before now and I'm very out of shape. But you've got to start somewhere - I'll take the 24 hours at my pace.

@tbrp That's a wonderful idea! There is a farm just a few miles away that just opened its stand for the summer and I am going to check them out this morning. Their peaches (probably still too early for them) are to DIE for....they taste like nothing you will ever find in a store.

@Aug That recipe sounds great! Here's why I am going to try it for sure....I'm seriously not a morning person and rarely cook myself a hot breakfast. Lets just say I had no idea you could slow cook oatmeal and have it hot and ready in the morning. I bet just the aroma alone would make it easier to get the kids out of bed in the morning, too. wink

@DrivenDiva Your smoothies sound wonderful too...will have to try them as well.

Wednesday Wish: I wish I could have one week where my weight wouldn't jump the morning of my weigh in! What the heck!!?? I actually weigh daily but log on Wednesday and consistently its been doing this. By Thursday each time its back to normal and life is good. Its seriously like a 4-5 lb jump....and I was great all week. Grrrrr.... May change my day to Thursday.noway

i finally got them out yesterday. but the spot still itches. they put a butterfly bandage over it with this like medical super glue. that's supposed to fall off in ten days. it itches like crazy underneath the bandage. it was a pretty big hole. i would rather it hurt than itch. gah.

Hello! I'm new to the site and figured I'd post in this group since it definitely applies! I've tried sites similar to MyFitnessPal with little success, so I'm hoping this time will be the charm. I hit my peak weight and decided it's time for a change.

My wish is that I could have someone standing over my shoulder forcing me to track my food every day, even when I've been "bad" about my calories! Hopefully by doing this online, I'll have some accountability. :)

I wish I could get my butt outside and walk more, but the weather has been terrible! Forcing myself to walk for 30 minutes on lunch today. :)

I also hope I can lose 13lbs this month and finally reach the 200's!

Oh I agree with you there! When I broke my ankle, under my cast it itched so bad....I wasn't supposed to but I would stick a hanger or something down there to scratch lol
