TOPIC: Updating/Editing "My Meals"

May 30, 2012 07:31
There does not appear to be a way to click and edit items for the "My Meals" function. Perhaps someone has already made mention to this, but I didn't read through ALL the posts to find it.

I believe it would be useful to be able to edit this function. I generally use it to easily add things I consume frequently (the example that sparked this is my morning coffee). If one portion of the meal changes it appears that the only way to update it is to delete the meal and re-create it. While this is not a great deal of a hassle, it is a minor inconvenience that could be looked into, if enough support for the idea makes it a viable and effective change, of course. :-)

-While I'm babbling, it might also be nifty to had an option to show just the meal name and total calories on the tracker list (but as an option to enable, not required each time).

Thank you for hearing my opinions.

I like the idea of being able to edit, as well.

Agreed. The way to replace meals is quite strange and often, mfp does not find the name. when doing an edit on a meal, I often need to try a few times.

In fact to reply to the fist post, the way I edit a meal is the following:
- add the meal to an empty slot (like afternoon snack if you haven't snacked already)
- make the changes
- right-click, remember meal,
- then type the meal name and select replace

This is this last step that is not always working.

I wish that it will be available soon, too. Bump!

@marcf2001: Thank you for the tip. I'll have to try that in the meantime. :-) It seems easier than deleting and re-adding everything anyway.

urg. I was hoping this was an issue for me... not the site. I use "my meal" for supplements and needed to increase one of them inside the meal. I thought I would be able to select that particular supplement and increase the quantity, then save again. This is frustrating. I will try the tip given above and see if it works.
