I'm really liking this application. While I've been able to track my food, nutrients and exercise, as a diabetic I would love to see you add a way to track my blood sugar readings and the times I took them. This would then be a complete package to see how what I'm eating and exercise affect my blood sugar. Thanks for considering.

This would be great. It would encourage me to track it when I should be doing so already on my own :(
Amazing how lazy I am. I will try the note thingy, that is a great idea.

GO FOR IT!

You can do it... track ANY thing that is specifically measurable that you wish to

My home > check in
bottom of the screen that that loads is "track additional measurements"

Add a line per time of day that you check your blood sugar, so if you check it 6 times you'd need to add a BS field 6 times... as each measurement type can only be tracked once a day, changing the number would over-write the earlier data.

Blood sugar,
blood pressure
body fat %
more than the default 5 measurement for body parts etc.

Hi! I track my blood sugars in the Food Notes box at the bottom of the food diary. Thats ok if you want to see each day separately BUT I think there needs to be a way to log them on one chart or something thats on one page so you could copy it for your endo visits. Nobody wants 3 months of separate pages to read through or copy!! Especially your endo!

It would be great if MFP could design a log just for BS. I know I would love it~~Right now I use a form I made up on Excel, print up blanks & hand write my BS results. It works pretty good but something better would be nice!!

I hope somebody on MFP comes up with something soon!

Friend me if you like~~~we T1's need to stick together,

Diane

Question: why don't you type it into the form instead of printing out blanks?

Currenlty we are tracking: Calories Carbs Fat Protein intake, it would be nice to see how much sugar is being eaten as well.
I love this, it is a real eye opener.

I would love this too!

Calories, Carbs, Fat and Protein is 4 of the 6 columns available. Calories is mandatory but click food > settings and add whatever you want for the other 2 columns.

It is available within MFP RIGHT NOW. I have it tracked as one of my measurements.
The instructions for adding it are in the thread.

I would love to be able to track BS before and after a meal. Keep info with that meal.

Sounds a great idea, Come on MFP...please

Simply adding a "measurement" for blood glucose does little to help when tracking blood glucose. MFP Does not appear to track times, so it's very difficult to track glucose. Also its graphing and reporting capabilities are primitive at best, significantly limiting the value of glucose tracking in this app.

This is a real pity, since being able to relate calories, carbs, exercise and blood glucose would be invaluable to the millions of diabetics out there.

If you enter the "measurement" type to involve a time, such as BS 9am, BS 12pm BStime for as many times as you check it daily you'll have a time-stamp that you can work with.

Reports section is due for an overhaul and hopefully it'll be a much more robust feature of the site when it does get rolled out.

Since I carb count to determine how much insulin I inject, I not only agree with everyone, but also would like the ability to enter the time and amount of fast and slow acting insulin I inject. All this could be accomplished by the simple expedient of append a "note" option to the end of each meal entry in the food monitoring section (also I would like a sixth "meal" option, to cover middle of the night snacking). As a clinical psychologist, I would observe that for ALL Fit Pal pals, that note section could be used to record "emotional states", "activating events" or other common monitoring variables that might help one bring one's diet under better control. flowerforyou

Under food > settings there are 6 meal slots available, just name each of them to get them to show in your diary, the 4 default ones are of course breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack

and there "is" a food notes section at the bottom of the food diary, both on the website and the apps, it's just "one" note field for the day rather than after each meal slot. On the website it's at the very bottom of food > food diary to the right of the water consumption area.. you click "edit note" to activate it and "save note" when you're done typing, if you don't click save note your note won't be there when you come back to the food diary.
