It has been 24 hours or more since I have been able to get my app to load. This is quite an inconvenience because I use the app almost exclusively. A message was posted by Myfitnesspal on Facebook about it getting fixed last night and hubby's phone is working...he has the same Android Thunderbolt I do...but mine still will not load. Help!!

Mine did the same last night. I had to uninstall and reinstall it and then it was all good!

You don't lose everything by doing that...uninstall and reinstall??

The app should be saving everything to your online account every time you log food or exercise. You can check that by looking at your food and exercise logs here on the site.

If you delete the app, and log back in with the same username, everything on the site is transferred back to the app.

I turned my phone off, took the battery and sd card out and reinstalled them. After that my phone worked. YaY! because it was a horrible day without my pal!

Not always. When the website (or server, maybe) is having issues (like in did last night, and one other night this week), my Android app can't sync, and won't load my newsfeed, etc.

A valid point. Let's say when sync is working properly, data is restored. We may not be able to restore it immediately, but once service is restored, data makes its way back to the phone, provided it was saved to the site prior to app uninstall.

We are aware of an issue with pic-substitution on Android. Would you contact us at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/welcome/contact_us to let us know the details of your device? We may want to gather some other diagnostic info that's best collected off-forum.

Regarding the unsynced data, please go to the "more" tab of your app and see if it reports "all changes synced" or not. If not, tap the line reporting unsynced changed and then tap "sync now".

I tried this repeatedly, but it wouldn't complete until the website was back to functioning properly.

I uninstalled the app and re installed it. It seems fine now. Though the nutritional info for a recipe I had saved yesterday seems lost in cyberspace. At the time it said it was saved and I hit Dismiss as usual but now it is gone.

That's unfortunately the case when the servers are down. It happens rarely, considering the amount of traffic on the site, but it happened two nights in a row recently. Our apologies for that.

If the site is down for any reason, we do our best to update Facebook (www.facebook.com/myfitnesspal) and twitter @myfitnesspal as soon as we become aware of the issue. If you follow us in either place, you may save yourself some frustration trying to figure out if the issue you're experiencing is with your app, or is happening at "our" end of things.

Awfully sorry about your lost recipe data. It does seem likely it was due to our server kerfuffle.
