It's helpful to notate the time I've eaten a meal or snack. I can track it to ensure I'm eating at regular intervals. There is no place to track this except in the notes section. I will have to create my own spreadsheet to be able to track. Please update.

The water consumption area is not user friendly. I would prefer something with check marks and the ability to run reports on this also.

I agree. I don't drink from 8 oz (1 cup) glasses and would like to track my water consumption by ounces. Being able to set and track water consumption goals would be a great addition.

In the settings area, you can change the meal name to 9am, 11am, etc. from Breakfast, Snack, etc. This may help a little.

This is what I have done. I have renamed the meals by times of day. Foods go into the list under a meal in the order entered and I cannot imagine needing to know closer than that what time you ate.

This doesn't address your entire request, but you can track anything by going to Home>check in>track other measurements. I put my hunger and energy levels in using a scale rating. Maybe you could ck that for H2O? You still hafta go and add it in the check in....ohwell

You could add water as a food. Or you could track how many glasses you drink; it doesn't have to be cups.

For UK users, water isn't tracked in cups or ounces, but usually in mls, so being able to set that to suit would be helpful.

It would also be helpful to have a fruit and veg 5 a day tracker, which I've seen on other journal sites, that way you can see how much fruit and veg you are getting each day and whether these are at optimal levels.

I agree! Adding the time a meal was eaten would be tremendously helpful.

I agree with this thread. Please, add an option to enter the times of when a category is consumed. Renaming the categories isn't enough. Also, add more categories. I eat portioned meals/snacks every 2 or 3hours. With that in mind, another category would be helpful. Then along with each category, maybe on the website to the right of the category name, "Lunch", you allow us to enter a time and/or time range of when we believe we consumed this category of food/drinks.
This will help for better interval tracking of calorie intake.

I agree. I've been trying to keep an eye on the spacing of meals, for blood sugar purposes and to see if that's one of the reasons I end up eating too much when I do (ie, wait too long and end up feeling starved and going overboard). I'd also like to be able to track ounces of water or with check marks.

I find that this is one of the most important things when it comes to weight loss, keeping track of when you last ate to avoid massive drops in blood sugar and to avoid binging. Many people also who are really overweight are on medications and need to time them around when they eat so that also would help them too.

I lost 40 pounds in the past because of bad heart burn that required that I eat smaller meals every four hours versus really large meals that would cause pain and discomfort. I learned that it's important to write down when I last ate so I'd stay on schedule and keep my energy up during the entire day as well.

I think SO MANY people would lose so much more weight if you added a time feature next to each meal posted. I've learned that in the past I gained a lot of weight because I didn't keep track of when I last ate and would go sometimes 6-8 hours without eating. I would then be so incredibly hungry that I'd end up eating out at a buffet somewhere or pick up a huge meal that was around 1500+ calories. I think this is very important.

I feel so strongly that more people will lose a lot more weight if you add this feature and ultimately will lead to this website becoming more popular and more activity from people who stay on track. I would be more encouraged to check my account and keep it updated if anything just to see the last time I ate to know how long it's been.

I think there are two ways to make this user friend. You can allow it to default and post an automatic time next to when it's posted. This would probably be the easiest way and would leave it up to the user to keep up with if they want to consistently post before eating a meal or after.. The key is it would give a good estimate of the last time they ate. I prefer posting times AFTER I finish a meal versus before because I consider it the end of eating and when the time should start to the next meal.

You could then give a second option to allow them to choose to manually enter a time, or maybe just an edit feature next to each meal posted. I think either would work great.

Another quick solution would be to add more MEAL NAMES options. Currently there are only 6 (can be found by going to FOOD TAB / SETTINGS). If you added the option to add up to say 20, people could then list out hours for each one.

6AM
7AM
8AM
9AM
etc. to 10PM
And then even add extra categories like snacks, supplements, other, etc. for anything that doesn't fall into those. Currently I noticed when you go to the FOOD TAB / SETTINGS, you have the suggestion of "you could change your meal names to "9AM to 11AM", "11AM to 1PM", etc.".

I noticed some people did this, but I think allowing more meal names would allow for more accuracy.

THANK YOU! Good information, I sometimes forget the time of my last meal.

The water tracker doesn't list any measurement, it's just numbers so use whatever measurement you like. 1 cup, 1 ounce, 1 gallon....the number goes very high so you shouldn't have any trouble tracking your water intake in whatever measurement works for you.

Also, as previously stated, you can add water as a food item and track totals there. Most things you want to track are listed in the food list...you just have to look for them. huh

Would you like a pop out app that tells you what to eat and when, or even a hand that folds out of the screen to press all those tiring buttons for you?
This site is called myfitnesspal. It’s set up for you to take responsibility for your life, so take responsibility for it, fill in your excel spread sheet, or download one if making one feels too much like hard work. If the meal times are important change the titles to suit, or set an alarm that rings every 4 hours so to remind you to eat.

This is about you helping yourself to a better life, so work with it, do it yourself rather than blaming something else for your future failure.

how do you note the times?
