TOPIC: THE most frustrating thing

Of course I love this site, so this is constructive criticism. But this drives me nuts!

There's now way to search things I've added to my diary before.

So take a simple packet of crisps. I want to add it to my diary. I search for it. There's about 10 entries where it could be what I want (and let's face it, a lot of people are inaccurate or can't be bothered to fill in all details).

First I go to the cupboard to find out the calories, fat and protein.

Then I have to go through clicking the various entries, then clicking nutritional info for each to see which one is right.

If it's wrong... and I edit it... I get thanked by being dropped out of the search system and have go in and search again!

Thanks. :)

If I do find the one I want, I add it... then next time I have to repeat the process all over again.

Please allow us to search our own, verified entries.

If it's the same ones all the time, you can use "my foods" and save it there to use again ... or a combination of foods if you have several items you eat as the same meal.

I agree with you hostile17 it kinda irritates me when I take the time to edit an item to make it accurate and then it goes poof and I have to search and *hope* I find the one I edited. I would be happy if there was just an "add to food diary" button on the page after you submit your edit.

AWESOME site though!

When you have edited an item in the database you'll find it under the "my foods" tab when you are at the point of searching for a food to add to a selected meal

IE
food > food diary > breakfast click add food
change from 'most used or recent to "my foods" and any item you've edited is there, don't have to search from scratch hoping to pick the one you corrected.

Plus if you've logged the item in your diary use the most used / recent tabs to find the one you have used before (presumably one with nutritional info accurate to your package)

Thanks for the feedback... I'd never even looked at My Foods, because I assumed it was custom foods rather than edited foods.

But... that's just edited food yeah, not foods I've used? So I wouldn't know to use it, unless I remembered editing it.

Plus multiple pages, you have to start clicking through them.

For me the best solution would be for the search box to pertain to the screen that you're on. So if I go to recent, I can then search my recent items.
