Well, I'm a repeat MFP starter, and I am going to push myself not to quit this time. I have a lot of mental blocks to get over, but I WILL do it this time!
I am a seventh grade language arts teacher, and other than occasionally being buried by grading, I LOVE my job. I am very lucky to be able to say that! I have been married for almost ten years to a man who loves me no matter what, which in some ways is how I gained almost 100 pounds after my wedding - he loves me no matter what, so what's one more cookie, right? I am a mom to 2 adorable bunnies but no children. . . which is just fine with us. We're both teachers, so we see 120 kids each a day. . . home is our escape! I am looking forward to getting to know all the new people, and to those of you who are still here from my last foray, I am so proud of you - Robin, I barely recognized your pic! Have a great week! ~Kerin

Hello all :) I'm still fairly new here and found this group a few days ago, thought I'd do the "Sunday Share" here. I'm a mother of two, my son is 23, just got married last December and will graduate from the University of Tulsa this coming December as a Petroleum Engineer. My daughter is 17, will be a senior next year and doesn't have a clue what she wants to do after highschool..yet! I love them both more than words can say! I'm married but things haven't been so good there for a long time. I came to this site for the help in logging my food, a friend at work had used it. What started me on this journey was when it hit me that I'm very close to being disabled due to my morbid obesity, a very horrible truth that stared me in the face when I had to turn down going to my nephew's graduation because I knew I wouldn't be able to climb the stairs to find a place to sit. After logging my food for a few days I noticed the message boards and realized I could find the encouragement and support that I so greatly need. I've enjoyed reading your post here and the friendship and support I see amongst you all. As you can see by my ticker I have well over 100 pounds to lose!
Looking forward to getting to know you all

Had another great day on track w/food yesterday. Hit about 9000 steps which is below my goal, but if I'm on track with food, I don't beat myself up if I don't do all my cardio. I remind myself that you lose weight in the kitchen, get healthy in the gym.
Besides weight, I'm going to start tracking fat percentage when my Omron fat monitor is delivered next week and I'm starting to track my resting pulse (68) and blood pressure (105/73) starting today. Can you tell I'm a numbers geek? Kind of a low-key Mother's Day. Did the breakfast thing with my boys, then we had lunch out and now we're going to the movies. They want to cook dinner together, so that'll be nice.

@Bethb and all the other newbies - welcome! This is a terrific place for support, ideas, and to vent when that is needed. Everyone on this forum has a lot of weight to lose, and we all are aware of the challenges.
Sunday share - it's a beautiful day today. I will be getting some extra exercise today because I need to help my husband unload a bunch of 4x8 sheets of OSB (plywood). That should burn some calories!
I bought my first watermelon of the season today. Can't wait to give it a try! I hope it's good. Have a great week everyone.

Welcome to all of the newbies!!!
@kerin & yarncrazy--Welcome back!!! Missed you guys.
@larry--I think the dinner you have planned looks fabulously healthy. Steak doesn't have to be a no-no, just have to plan around the higher fat content which it looks like you have with your sidedishes. Enjoy!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all of the moms (of kids, or dogs, or cats, or even bunnies )
Sunday Share: Wow, had a crazy night. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up at 3 am to my dog crying and looking out our bay window. As I tried to calm him, my husband called out to me to get him away from the window and I could hear a bunch of yelling from outside. When I went to grab the dog's collar, I saw a bunch (5-7?) guys running around in circles all over our lawn and in the street . They were whooping and yelling and twirling their jackets over their heads--couldn't tell if they were yelling at each other (fighting). My husband was already on the phone with the police who promptly sent 5-6 cars to investigate. It turned out the source of these guys was 2 houses over from us--new renters just moved in and were apparently having a party? Not really sure why they were running around yelling in the middle of the night. My husband said prior to that, he heard a car reving its engine and blasting the bass for about 15 minutes. He also said when walking the dog the other day, he saw one of the new tenants moving into the house and he looked like a gang-banger.
Great--just what we need. Our suburb is relatively quiet. When we moved in 10 years ago they were dealing with some minor gang issues on the other side of town, but the police did a good job of quelling that acitvity and we've never had any problems. I sure hope our new neighbors got the message that their behavior won't go unreported . I also hope the police notify the owner of the house to let him know to keep an eye on his new tenants.
Needless to say, I'm pretty tired today.
Finished all of my essays and am working on my AP tone tests. Will check back later with you guys.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mommies here in MFP land.
My Sunday Share is not one I ever planned on making. As some of you know, I was a member of this board faithfully until six months ago when we were thrilled to find out we were expecting. My heart was broken two weeks ago when we were told that our sweet angel no longer had a heartbeat. So I am back, more committed than ever. I will drop this weight and be a healthier person and a healthier mommy for our next attempt.

Hello Group and Happy Mothers Day to All.
Sunday Share - Well, I start grad school on Tuesday! I just earned my BSW (Bachelor in Social Work) and I am now starting my MSW (Masters in Social Work) I'm nervous. But I am going to the same University that I finshed my undergrad studies so I already am familer with my professors and campus. Also, I am having a day with no self control. At my job we are handing out gourmet mini cupcakes to all the new moms (I work at a maternity hospital) well, I have had 4 cupcakes, about 3 servings of pretzels that someone brought in and I stole a fun size snickers peanut squared out of a coworkers drawer. WTF!! @trhjrh06 - What a beautiful gift for m-day, enjoy! @garysgirl719 - I am so sorry. My heart goes out to you as no pain in the world can compare to that of a mother who has lost her child. I applaude your commitment to change and I am here if you ever need to talk xoxoxoxo @beachgirl613 - That is so cute! @skinnyjeanzbo - Ewww, that is terrible, I would have been scared... Also congrats on finishing up grading the essays!

Tina - that was so sweet. That is a very pretty ring and a huge difference in ring size! Congratulations!

I have been AWOL over the past few months as my 2nd and 3rd jobs kind of sucked the life out of me. I am very glad to have finished both those jobs so I can concentrate on my health again.
Gary'sgirl, I am so sorry to hear that you lost your little one. Time makes it easier, but never diminishes your love. My girl would be 28 now. It's good to be back!

Missed you all like crazy. I didn't realize how much I needed your support until I couldn't access this group for the last week!!! My computer died while I was in Utah and my HD and all files, including 11 years of research, GONE. My external HD failed also and the Geek Squad at BB couldn't recover a thing. Family gave me a new computer for Mother's Day and son installed all the goodies, but honestly, unless I can find someone to recover my documents, etc., ...well, I don't know what I'm going to do.
So, I used my frustration to excuse some pretty awful eating for the last several days. Shame on moi! Hope all the women on this site, moms or not, were treated like royalty, at least for today. Going to catch up on all the news now. Have a beautiful week.

@garysgirl I'm so sorry.
@skinnyjeansbound Wow. That IS a rough night. Years ago I woke up in the middle of the night because I thought I heard a funny noise and opened the door to the backyard and found policemen with flashlights looking for someone. Needless to say, I shut and locked the door. But your evening tops that by leaps and bounds! I hope the tenants straighten out and you find that they are just immature rather than gang banger, and that they become more responsible. @GrammyWhammy That's a shame. I know it's hard to lose information from a hard drive. I hope you do find someone to recover those documents. The substituting gig on Friday went well. They did NOT tie me to my chair and toss me in the closet.

Sunday share...I am 32, married, mother of 3. My son, 13, is finishing 7th grade, took the ACT test back in December (part of a gifted program), and got an 18!!!! He scored well enough to be getting an award this Friday!! So proud. My girls are twins, 11, and are finishing up 5th grade. I don't talk about my kids much because this is all about me. The one thing in my life that is. When I told my husband that he said, "Good! It's about time!" Guess I kinda use doing for others as an excuse to not do for me, but who on here doesn't, right? We are remodeling the house, little by little this year. I'm one of those ppl who just mostly nods and smiles when ppl talk to me, so don't feel I ignore you if I don't respond to all posts. I have to REALLY have something to say to actually do so! lol. Guess I should save some sharing for future Sundays, huh? ;-)

Hey everyone! Just a quick stop by to say hello and that I am officially a Doctor now! Graduation was yesterday and I didn't even trip going across the stage! Although, the heels did do a number on my alignment! I'm on vacation mode for the next couple weeks - will be camping with no internet, so won't be around until next week!
Have a wonderful week. Work hard, drink well - and don't snack on twizzlers to stay awake while driving alone for 10+ hours straight. Oh wait, that was me :)
