Zumba is a world wide phenomenon. Zumba made the May issue of SHAPE magazine!!!!! Over 11 million people participate in a weekly zumba class. You burn a minimum of 800 calories in a zumba class. I think it is about time that MFP added it to the list of cardio exercises!!!

boy, I would like to burn 800 c in one class! That seems pretty high. Guess it depends on the instructor. I usually burn 550-600 may per class using a HRM

I just use my HRM and add it myself. I've never burned 800, the most I've burned is about 550, but I have see some people with higher burns.

I dont know what others do but I add zumba to my cardiovascular exercise everytime I do it. When I go to a zumba class I burn between 930 and 955 calories every time during the course of a 55 minute workout. Not break, straight cardio routines!

You do realize that you can add Zumba as one of your own exercises, right? I've been doing Zumba since October & have logged it every time I've done it, as well as other variations, such as Zumba Toning & Zumbathons. I wear an HRM, so after I entered my first set of data, MFP began logging my calories accordingly. If you don't have an HRM, you can go to www.zumbacalories.com to get a fairly accurate calorie burn. Happy logging & happy Zumba-ing! :)

It's probably too hard because it'll be different depending if you do the videos or at a class, and a lot of the moves you can make easier or harder depending on your skill/fitness level. Wear a HRM, if you don't have one, see if you can borrow one at work out how much you burn in a class and reuse that number
