I would love to see added to your exercise database the calories burned doing laundry, putting things away, doing dishes, cooking, cleaning, etc. I found it on CalorieLab.com and would love to be able to add that to my exercise log. I found that in my daily duties of being a stay-at-home mom, I burn up to at least 400 calories in a day and that's not including keeping up with 3 kids. It would add some fun to the logs to be able to add those things we moms do. Thanks! Susan

Keeping up with housework and kids can definately burn some calories! There is cleaning (light and heavy duty), cooking, and moving household objects already in the database, but you can also add those that you found on CalorieLab! Just go to: "My exercises" under the Exercise tab -- and then click on "create exercise". As for myself, I have laundry added on my exercises, but might have to add bathing the dog, mopping, and carrying groceries! (not butchering animals, though!)

HIH!

Your best bet to see how many total calories you burn in a days time is to invest in a really good heart rate monitor. They are wonderful! It helps to see how many calories you can burn no matter what you are doing. You would love it!

You can find housework in the database under "cleaning" light and moderate.

I see someone has already mentioned that. :)

When you look back in a year's time, will you be saying, "I'm so glad I stuck it out!" or "Why did I waste another year?"

Yep! that's what I was going to suggest. Once you do your work, check the cals burned, and you can put those into your exercise journal! I got a nice watch HRM at Walmart for $25. It may not be top of the line, but its what I could afford, and I LOVE it!

I originally put my activity level as sedentary, but after I wore my HRM for a few days I realized that as a SAHM I burn a lot of calories!
