Fitness goals sheet doesn't seem to correctly calculate weekly weight loss. It doesn't show the weight loss from exercise calories burned.

It doesn't count it until you actually log the exercise. It doesn't count what you plan to do. And really the reason is that MFP intends for you to eat all your exercise calories back, so it would not affect the calculation.

I am experiencing a similar issue. Exercise added does not increase calories allowed. I tried to delete the exercise to add it back in, and could not edit the exercise entry.

Or perhaps my issue is different from OP's issue. In any case, there is a problem with the way exercise logged is posting. Looks OK on the exercise log page -- shows calories burned. But those calories are not being added into the daily calorie goal, as I have always seen them do in the past.

It doesn't add it to the daily calorie goal but rather takes that number, plus calories burned and increases your remaining. Goal-Food+Exercise=Remaining. Make sense?

It should add to the daily goal on your Food Diary. (Not on your home page though.) I can't reproduce the error so I'm not sure what's going on. If you can't delete the exercise there may be some kind of glitch. Are you using the app or website? Maybe instead of deleting the exercise and re-adding, just try adding it again and see what happens.

Yes, this is what it normally does, I know.
However, this morning I posted an exercise, and it "appeared" correct on the "exercise" tab. However, going to the "Food" tab, it did not add those exercise calories into the calories remaining, like it normally does. Also on the "my home" tab, where I would normally see my exercise calories as a negative number in the "exercise" column, there was still a zero, as though I had not logged anything.

I thought there must have been some glitch, so I tried to delete that exercise I logged, intending to add it back in, to see if it would then calculate the calories remaining correctly. It did not allow me to delete the exercise log entry. I signed off MFP and signed back on, and still the same.

Then I logged a duplicate exercise entry, which DID affect all the places my exercise logging normally affects (appeared on Food tab as additional "remaining calories", and appeared on "My Home" tab as a negative in the exercise column.). However, now there are TWO entries on the exercise tab . . . one that's showing up correctly, and one (the orginal one) that is not affecting any totals, and which I still cannot delete.

I am using the website, and yes, I did what you suggested, which is fine I guess. Still that duplicate entry out there, but it's not affecting anything, so I guess it just must be a glitch of some sort.
Thanks for your response.

I get it now. I had to read the formula more carefully --- It is

Net Calories Consumed = Total Calories Consumed - Exercise Calories Burned

Just thought it was total calories consumed.

Thanks all.

Time to workout!!!

Hey we're all in this together!!!! No worry about hijacking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

WE had a temporary glitch on Friday that caused some logged exercises to appear as "phantoms" in the diary: logged visually, but not contributing to the net calorie goal.

This should be a one-off issue, and future exercises should correctly tabulate.

Sorry for the hijinks!
