Hi there! Thanks so much for this site, it's been so great! All of my family and friends have joined and we've got a great community going!

We entertain a lot and eat with the same people that use the site, not to mention that my wife and I are both on the site. Is there a way to share recipes that you've created with your friends?

That way, when we have a dinner party, we could have the recipes in our box and share them with everyone to post what they need to.

Anyway, thanks again!

Great question, I've wondered the same thing myself, hope we get a GOOD answer!

Wondering the same! My wife or I will make a dinner and add the recipe as we cook, but then the other can't see it unless we publish.

currently you can only copy the nutritional info of a serving of the meal from your friends diary if you're using the iPhone or iPad app.

Sharing the recipe doesn't put it in the database to be found...this is what it says when you click YES to share with the database
QUOTE:
We are currently accepting submissions to the MyFitnessPal recipe database. Once we receive enough submissions, we'll create a recipe section where users can browse recipes submitted by other members. Until then, you can To submit your recipe to the database, please provide the following additional information.

For the rest of us the "easiest" way is to enter the recipe on one account, take note of the nutritional info of a serving of the food and create a new food based on that info, when you share that new food with the database your friends can go log that new food item to get their calories for your shared meal.

Hi there, like your other members we would love it if we could share our recipes with our "myfitnesspal" friends - not to add the recipe to the database, but just so those of us that are having the same meal can save time calculating the recipe/adding the ingredients everal times each time we use a new recipe...please please please add this feature!! Many thanks - it is such a great site!!

I too would love to have this option!! I LOVE your site! Thanks so much! It has been the tool I needed to finally see changes made and goals accomplished! Having the option to share recipes with my husband would make it SO much easier for him to accomplish his goals as well!!

Since it got bumped anyway I would like to point out that since my last post on May 2nd in the thread support for this has been added for another platform... I think Android?

Thanks so much, I really enjoy this webstie.

Me also, several family members eat the same food. It would be nice if entering quick calories you could also enter smome of the basics like carbs etc. A lot of receipes now speel a lot of that out.

I keep adding to the recipes by clicking "yes" in hopes that there will be enough recipes faster this way! LOL I cannot wait until it opens and we can share and view others' recipes! love

My wife and I are both using this app and obviously both share many ofthe same meals, so it would be great if we could share them for our food diaries.

BUMP...it makes zero sense whatsoever that we cannot share recipes with friends. If my friend can view my food and exercise diary, why can't he view (and copy into his recipes) my recipe for the garden salad I like to eat?

Add this feature, people...before I start posting photos of myself shirtless!!!

Me too! I am sick of frozen dinners but not very good at cooking much less making my own healthy dish. Need help!

I just posted a new topic on this same subject. Glad to see I am not alone. Add me to the list of those who think this is a great enhancement!

Sharing recipes would be awesome! I have a lot of recipes in my All Recipes account. It would be nice if we could import them somehow too. But sharing them with each other would be great.

I agree! My husband and I are both using MFP and it is really a pain to have to plug a recipe in twice :(
"Please" MFP admin - you have hundreds of requests for this addition "Help" us make things easier to get
healthier together :)

Agree, agree, agree!!! I cook for a family with 5 people on here! And having to copy all the nutritional info is a pain. Most of them wind up doing "Quick add calories only" which sucks. Please, please add this feature ASAP! Thanks :-)

It got bumped again so I'll add in here that as of November 14th it's possible to copy the nutritional info of a serving of a recipe from a friends diary via the website (in addition to Android, iPhone and IPad apps)

On the web you just view a friends diary that has it shared, go to the meal in question, click quick tools and copy to today... that will copy it from their diary to yours. BUT note that you may need to have all 6 slots on your diary active if the friend has all 6 slots... if you don't then the "copy" has nowhere to go on your account and isn't done. It copies from say 6th meal slot to 6th meal slot when you do the copy so you might have to move the item to get it to show in your dinner slot if yours is in a different spot than that of your friend.

MFP announcement of this feature being added
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/796870-copying-meals-from-friends-now-available-on-the-site

It only copies the nutritional info of a serving (you can change your serving size) not the recipe that you could then edit / change if you don't use it exactly as input etc.
