Hi Folks,

Some of you who participate in Groups ( http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups ) may be experiencing some issues with posting to groups, or editing the admin/moderator lists of your groups.

We're very sorry for the inconvenience, and we believe we have a fix in place. However, the fix won't kick in until we are able to update the code site-wide. I'll do what I can to accelerate that process, but it may be a day or two more before all Groups are working as expected.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. We're definitely aware of it and addressing it as quickly as we can.

Regards,
Steven

Good Morning Steven,

I just started a new group and I can't get in to leave messages or post to the discussion board - HELP!!

*LMAO* Hi Steven :) Thanks for the update.

Ok seriously now, I started a new group and STILL can't do anything with it. I have 30 people asking me when we will be able to post to our own group without having to deal with trolls.

Hi Folks,

We just rolled out a fix for the issue that's been occurring with groups. We're one step away from the finish line on resolving this issue. The code has been fixed, but any groups that were created during the period where the problem existed are going to show up as having "creators" but no "admins" or "moderators."

We will very shortly (by end of day, I hope) be populating the Admin and Moderator fields with username who created each of these groups. From that point, the creator will be able add other admins or mods.

But it should be possible, as of this post, to post in these Groups' message boards. Will you kindly post here if that's not the case?

We're very sorry for the downtime those of you with affected groups have experienced. We're 90% back up, and you should have all of your functionality back by the end of the day.

Thanks for keeping us posted about the issue.

Steven

Update:

All groups should now have working forums.

Most groups affected by the recent issues should also see they their "creator" is now listed as both an "administrator" and a "moderator". This should allow the creator to add other admins and mods.

I've been informed that there will still be a handful of about 15 groups that do not show a moderator or administrator.

If you are the creator of one of these groups, please reach out to us via http://www.myfitnesspal.com/welcome/contact_us (choose "other" and send us the URL to your group's home page. As an example: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/800-moderators-forum

We will manually add the creator to the admin and mod areas of the sites that were not automatically repaired by our recent fix.

Again, I offer our apologies for the trouble with the groups feature over the past few weeks. I believe we've got it sorted now, though we will need to clean up a few more the groups manually. So please let us know at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/welcome/contact_us

Patti,

Your group should now be viable as well. Thanks immensely for your patience. Our apologies that it took us so long to resolve the problem with such a popular feature!

Thank you Steven! I'm so excited now! I was able to add my little jpeg image and I am now listed as admin/mod. One last question - In a group how can I thumb tack a thread if I want to?

Thanks again so much for your time and energy you put into fixing this,
Patti
