Hi! I've been researching the web about Coconut Oil (unrefined and organic coldpressed) benefits to losing belly fat and weight. And I want to know if anyone has tried it and does it work? How fast do you see results and how much do you take? I just bought some and tasted it (yeah ok I'm going to have to work at it!) but am interested in the results on overall health.
Can anyone tell me their experience please? Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm new to the group (need to post my intro soon) I use coconut oil at least three times a week. A large tablespoon in my oatmeal ..yum. of course I also use it in my hair and will soon be giving to my cats to help their fur since its so dry where i live.

I've only used it for two weeks though so while right now I haven't noticed anything different I'm hopeful

Great! We can keep tabs on how we go with it! Add me.
I just found an awesome website from Australia called Cocopure that sells Chocolate, cashew and vanilla flavoured raw coconut butter! I bought it and it's yummo! I must admit I am starting to feel different using it and aren't as bloated when I either eat it or cook with it, so it's currently looking very positive!

Welcome too BTW!!!

i may have to check this out myself as i get very bloated easily. of course i will have to keep it out of my little ones reach as she is allergic to coconut, and have to cook seperately from her food but if it helps with bloat like you say im up for it

I've been using it now for about three weeks and I must say, I've lost (with almost no effort required) 4.5inches off my waist!!! I've been taking 3-4tbsp a day whether in my cooking or as a flavoured alternative on toast or I even made an incredible muesli bar with the Chocolate coconut butter as the base!
I can't do my normal gym routine as I'm doing Bowen therapy so exercise isn't being done apart from housework and general living efforts.
So I think if it's going to work reasonably quickly, it should be used daily. I read somewhere it boosts the function of the thyroid gland of which I have a problem and am on herbs from my Naturopath. Maybe it's a combination of the herbs (mainly kelp) and the coconut butter but hey! I'm HAPPY!!!laugh

So does it have a smooth texture? Is it good on toast? I think I'm going to try it!

It's a bit like peanut butter with a very slightly grainy texture. Mind you I'm now ADDICTED almost to the cacao cashew flavoured, the chocolate flavoured and the normal cashew flavoured. SO YUMMY! I had it on my bagels this morning so yes it's AWESOME on toast of any kind!!!love

I have! That was during my first time losing weight. I took about a tablespoon a day and cooked with it pretty often. This was unrefined coconut oil and I do remember having my stomach go down with it but it never got to flat. I don't think it would hurt although I scaled back and eventually stopped because of cholesterol fears (scaredy cat). If you aren't afraid of anything else going bad on you then I would say try it for sure.

I use to to fry up my veggies and it is so good! Im sold on it! I didnt know it had any health benifits lol... I guess I should look into that.
As far as the diet I am on the oil is great for cooking and a great alternative to EVO :)!

Hello i just joined but i have used coconut oil it works i use it in everything instead of butter or other oils because it is the only oil that does not store as fat in the body and flushes the fat out you will start to notice over time it working and you get use to the taste. I used it along with a good eating plan and lost 52 lbs so i believe it helped in my losing weight cause i did not exercise during that time either. Hope this helps good lucksmile
