Fitbit is not syncing. This seems to be a very frequent problem. When will the bugs be worked out?

Has yours synced yet? I've been trying to get mine to sync for the last ten minutes and it's not working. Very frustrating!!

I found that rebooting my computer helps.

I LOVE my Fitbit, but sometimes it is slow to sync. Like the earlier poster, I do find that rebooting the computer helps. And recharging the Fitbit also seems to help.

I love my FitBit as well. My hubby bought it for me for my birthday last year. I ended up having to get one for him too. :-P Anyway, its fun I look at my numbers and see, umm 500 steps to that goal, or so many steps to that flight. Makes me go out to go over! We also have this tendancy to compete with each other for our high scores.

I've had it for two weeks now and I love it. No problems synching at all (sometimes you need to just refresh the webpage to see the updated results). The wireless range is excellent - I once had it synch through a whole floor (I was upstairs w/ my fitbit and laptop, the receiver was attached to my desktop downstairs and it still synched!)
The installation was easy (love how the interface is just a website you can access from any computer, and not a separate program), the battery lasts forever (I've had it last over 7 days on a charge with plenty to spare) and it seems very accurate when it comes to walking. It doesn't register steps when you shift around in your chair or stand up, unlike some pedometers I've had. Only two complaints - 1) (and this is major) i it seemed to be WAY off when running. I ran 5 miles and it only showed up as 3-ish. Not sure if it was my running style or the running clothes I was wearing, but whatever, it's easy to edit the #'s on the website 2) it's still a pain to put it in the wristband that calculates your sleep. It's just made out of a weird material and it's hard to attach the fitbit into the pocket of the band. But still, I really recommend it and it's totally helped me increase activity (it's much easier to hit 10K steps a day when you can see how close you are) |

Okay, maybe I just don't get this. I have had my FitBit for about two weeks and just started myfitnesspal yesterday. My FitBit syncs to the FitBit site just fine, but now I am on MFP and my FitBit is on its charger/syncing pad. How do I tell MFP that I want it to add what I have done throughout the day from my FitBit to the MFP site? HELP!! Thanks! :)

P.S. Like the other posts above, I love my FitBit. I have lost about 42 so far and love how it keeps me accountable.

FitBit.com was having an issue at their end for some part of yesterday. We believe normal syncing has been restored. If you are not seeing evidence of syncing based on the advice below, please let us know!
There are three data points that you can compare between your FitBit and MFP accounts to determine if your accounts are syncing properly. These three items are FitBit Steps, FitBit Sleep Minutes, and the FItBit Adjustment (for calories burned). You can see your Fitbit Steps and Fitbit Sleep Minutes in two places: 1. Under the "My Home" tab, click "Check-In". This will take you to a screen where you can enter in new progress measurements. This is where we record your Fitbit Steps and Fitbit Sleep Minutes. If you want to go directly to that screen you can go to this URL: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/measurements/check_in">www.myfitnesspal.com/measurements/check_in 2. You can see a graph of your Steps and Sleep Minutes by going to the "Reports" tab and choosing to graph "Progress". When you see the option to "Choose a Report" you can choose Steps or Sleep Minutes. This will give you a little graph. (Note that if you do not attach your FitBit to the wrist band and set it to stopwatch mode when you sleep, you should not expect to see any FitBit Sleep Minutes data.) If you want to verify that the Fitbit calorie adjustment is working correctly, you can compare two numbers, one on MFP (with a little math) and one on Fitbit. If you go to this page on Fitbit (www.fitbit.com/activities ), you should be able to see your total calories burned under the heading "Daily Totals". This is the total calories that your Fitbit believes you've burned for any given day. If you go to this page on MyFitnessPal (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/my_goals">www.myfitnesspal.com/account/my_goals ) you should be able to see our estimate for calories burned under "Your Diet Profile" --> "Calories Burned" --> "From Normal Daily Activity". This is the estimate we created for you based on your height, weight, age, gender, activity level, etc... Add to this estimate any calories of cardio exercise you have logged for the day. If the Fitbit number is HIGHER than our estimate+exercise, we'll add a "Fitbit calorie adjustment" to account for the difference. If the number is LOWER, you will not see an adjustment for that day. |

Steven, For the past week I have had to unlink and relink about 3 times to get my fitbit to show up on MFP. It will not sync today at all. I unlink and relink and go to check in etc. and it still does not link. I can usually get it to link eventually, but not today. My steps etc. show up on fitbit.com almost immediately but will not syn to MFP.

Steven, Of course you know that it finally synched. Still, I have to unlink and relink several times each afternoon when I get home from work. It used to sync automatically with no problem.

I love my Fitbit. But it hasn't synced with MFP in 3 days. Still, I enjoy keeping track of my steps and floors. I walk more than I would without it.

Same problem here. My steps and sleep are syncing but the calorie adjustment hasn't synced in 2 days. I've restarted my computer and re-synced but still nada.

I noticed a problem yesterday with fitbit failing to update to MFP.
Today everything is fine and it's been syncing perfectly. |

Fitbit was experiencing some site slow down, but that should be resolved now. Are you still experiencing issues with your Fitbit? I look forward to hearing from you.
