TOPIC: Is it better to eat then walk or walk then eat?

I started walking at work during lunch but was wondering is better to eat then walk or walk then eat? Is there any difference?

I walk first then eat. It works for me

I always eat before I walk .... works for me otherwise I am famished and tend to eat too much. Try both see which works for you.

I don't think there's a difference in calories burned, or metabolism, etc. I personally walk, then eat. That way I don't fee weighed down by my lunch.

In college, I took a health course where the professor said to exercise first, wait 45 minutes, then eat. The scientific reason behind that? Pshaw, like I remember!!!! laugh

OOPS, lemme edit that statement.

IF you are gong to work out first, THEN wait at least 45 minutes to eat.
Something about giving your body time to "cool off" and burn stored fat versus burning off the food you are consuming....

But I personally eat around noon and workout around 2:30pm daily. I need the fuel or I feel weak during my workouts.

I have been told by most of the trainers that I have worked with to eat a healthy lite meal then do your workout about 30 mins after. If you eat foods with natural energy, like most fruits, then your exercise should be enjoyable and more work can be done during the workout to lose weight. Just be careful for vomiting. This could cause other problems that we all want to avoid.

Really - if your just walking on your lunch break - which ever way works best for you - I used to eat first, then walk. However it works for you is the best way! Happy walking.

I was told by a trainer thats its best to walk then eat... While you are eating u are still burning .

I like to eat after I walk or workout instead of before cause I feel like I get a better workout without being full.
