I want to be able to share food items with my wife. After all, we do live in the same house, eat at the same table, and eat the same food. It sure would make things easier for us. Thanks!

We're definitely planning on adding the ability to share foods/meals/recipes with just friends. Stay tuned!

While you're at it, Mike, can you make it so MFP does my exercises for me?

We also want to be able to share recipes/foods/meals, however it is easiest (fastest) for you to implement. Just chiming in to make this a more pressing need.

When I say "share recipes" I mean be able to share a recipes with a specific user, not add it to some DB. I don't really want to add anything to a DB; writing down coherent instructions is way too much work for recipes with names like "ramen fiasco".

This would make a great site totally perfect to me! Not being able to share when in the same house at the same table totally sucks! Love everything else here though, thank you so much!

I want to be able to look at the actual ingredients in db recipes and not just the cal/protein/carb/fat break down in the facts section. when i use a recipe from the database instead of adding my stuff, it's usually on the fly when I had to pick something else up, trying to find the closest food to what i ate proves difficult when there is no way to actually see what is in the recipe. maybe this is actually available and i am just doing something wrong...any suggestions?

You can do this if you've got the iPhone app (& possibly others, I don't know). See here for instructions. Tried it with my wife & it works smile

Totally agree - my girlfriend, daughter and I are all using myfitnesspal and we'd love to be able to share our recipes with each other and not have to duplicate enter them. Either let friends browse my recipes and import them, or just let me send them to a friend.

Frankly it's the *only* thing about the service I'd change and with how comprehensive the service is - I'm surprised it's not already a feature. If you're looking for something to include into a non-free commercial version - it's a feature I'd pay for (and of course to get rid of the ads). This app definitely has value.

If you're looking for other things for a commercial version - may I also suggest integration with other fitness tracking software like Garmin - or any ANT+ receiver so I can download more accurate exercise data. Not critical, but it'd be nice.

ps> LOVE THE SERVICE! Especially the fact it works on iphone, droid, and web.

Definitely.... the ability to share recipes with a spouse or friend would be very nice, to eliminate having to enter everything at least twice. Thanks for indicating that you're working on it. I'm looking forward to this improvement!

That and a like button.

I'd like to add my "me too!" to this request! I love the ability to use the barcode when creating the recipes but having both of us have to add it is frustrating. Also the ability to attempt to import ingredients from recipe sites would be nice as well.

I agree that I'd like to share recipes with specific users and also be able to adjust recipes w/o having to delete and readd ingredients. i.e. If my Mom share a recipe with me but I want to add more or less of an ingredient, you currently have to delete the ingredient and readd it vs. being able to adjust the quantity (like you can in the daily food journal). Thank you!!

I'd like the reporting section to calculate averages over the period I select. As of now it shows a bar graph for the period but it's difficult to determine the average.

I don't care if one item (sodium for example) is high or low for a day or two. What's important for me is how I am doing over time...the average.
