Why is it that myfitnesspal only tracks 2 vitamins? So far this is the only complaint I have about fitnesspal

I agree!! The USDA publishes information on 92 different components in food, including all vitamins and trace minerals. This could be very useful for people with nutrient specific health concerns. Please increase the vitamin and mineral information and tracking. I'm especially interested in Folic acid and Choline because I'm pregnant, but any more info we could get would be great!
Thanks! |

Most of the "info" we have comes from nutrition labels, which don't have very much available for vitamins. I have 2 chocolate related items in reach and both have vit A vit C Calcium and Iron on the label... where would I get the info for other 'nutrients' these contain as it's not on the label. I'd love more complete info but how do you get it when it's not mandatory on every food item.. IE there's items in the database that I know have potassium in them but since it isn't required on the label they have 0 under the potassium tracking section

This searchable website has TONS of information on various food products. Good luck, and I hope it helps. http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/

I agree. More vitamins should definitely be displayed. I would love to know how many vitamins I'm getting from whole foods like fruits and vegetables, and if information is not available I would be satisfied with the program stating N/A at least.
Hope they can expand their vitamin tracker soon, because besides that this app is great. Having to get another app to track vitamins will start to get annoying... |

YES!!! Vitamin tracking would be so helpful!!! When I started this journey, I had a full physical/blood workup and the doc said I was deficient in several vitamins. He started me on supplements and oh my gosh - I feel AMAZING!!! I'd love to learn to get the vitamins I need from my food and a vitamin tracking tool on MFP would help so much.
Thanks guys for such a GREAT site! You're a huge factor in changing so many lives =)

I agree, a more in depth vitamin tracker would be great.. I would also love see something where we could select the vitamins we want to see in our nutrition tracker.

PLEASE update MyFitnessPal to include ALL vitamins and minerals!!!! I am a clinical nutritionist and I would love to use this tool for my clients and students, but often have to use other programs such as FitDay because I must see a full nutrient panel!

I just signed up last night, and noticed this shortfall right away! I retooled my diet last January to target nutrient-rich unprocessed foods, and i feel better, but have been eating too much of them, and not getting enough exercise. I think this app service would be really awesome if we could track any number of nutrients we wanted to. The database will fill up as the information becomes available.
