Right now, if someone loses 1 pound in 1 day, their stream shows that they lost 1 pound yesterday, and their total loss is, say, 5 pounds. If the user the next day adds a pound, no output is given to the stream. On the third day, they lose .5 a pound, and their total loss is now 4.5 pounds. But for someone watching their stream, it looks as if they lost 1.5 pounds. Can at least the option to report on losses as well as gains be added to the app?
In my experience with my friends on this site, by not showing these increase days, the stream view (how I keep up with my friends) is *only* helpful when folks are losing weight, and need the least support. When they are gaining, everything is silent. |

Or even have the option to add a chart onto our profile showing all the ups and downs/dates

The whole point of positive feedback is NOT to 'reward' the negative. And in this context, 'reward' is any form of notice being taken.
It's a well-researched area of psychology. |

Great idea.. I only post weight once a week and sometimes I do gain, so I sure don't want people congratulating me for losing the 1-2 pounds over and over every week.... but I would love to track it.
Currently, I just write it in my food notes for myself.... and I don't record weight again until I am actually under the last lowest reported number. Some months, I can gain 7lbs just in one week during TOM. I stopped tracking that week completely.

Totally agree. I log my weight everyday (so I can see fluctuations), but I have the notification feature turned off so it doesn't report any losses at all. Then, when I've hit a good "new" weight, I just manually post it on my profile. Also, I don't do this (MFP) to get kudos from others, I do it for me. So having the notifications isn't particulary helpful to me.

Has this question been addressed by MFP at all? I really would like the option to have the gains automatically reported, too - not just the losses.
Please. Thanks!
