Oh enough with the race card, folks. Lemme just say, as a white girl, there is nothing offensive about this at all. I can totally understand the OP's intent on relating to women who are shaped like she is...
However, I will also always be drawn to these posts, as I am not your average American white girl. My curves lead me to look for inspiration from other PROUD curvy women. And there just aren't as many white girls who are proud to be curvy.

bigsmile ...well said!

I wish I was African American. I love everyone's beautiful mocha-dark chocolate skin tone.

I'm so happy to find this message board. I'm 5'1 and trying to lose 30lbs. Your transformations are amazing, truly inspiring. Everytime I lose 10lbs I'm going to post until I reach my goal. This is very motivational. Thank for creating this message board!

this thread brings tears to my eyes..... I belong to a facebook group called BWDW ( Black Women DO Workout) as well as BGR ( Black GIrls Run).... both groups aim to empower the AA community & to dispel myths inside & outside of the culture
.

Before Kim Kardashian, no non-black women wanted a big butt...
Before Angelina Jolie, no non-black women wanted big lips....

By seeing women who look like, are shaped like and likely have had same eating & exercise habits/customs during childhood until adulthood, I am inspired and encouraged.

All you ladies awesome!!!!

Everyone looks so insanely awesome!

For the ignorant few who do not understand the context of the thread - Why are you so offended?

This makes me sad for the world.

I'm in the same boat with you ladies. I wore a size 0/2/4 at 140 pounds and 5'4". Body type definitely makes a difference. Muscles, curves, heavy, bones. Whatever. Genetics is definitely at play.

Great work ladies! In a month I hope to have a photo to share of my progress!

So many great pictures on this thread! You all are so motivating even though I do not have a similar body type, you all have overcome a lot of misconceptions to get where you are. I must admit at first I was like some of the other people on here thinking if white people did this it would be racist, but now I realize that everyone is different and we need support from people who are similar to us with similar goals. I am sorry for my inital thinking, but I get the bigger picture now (trying to work on my personal accountability). I am so proud of all of you for your hard work! smile
