nobody answering my post and i am not getting my fitbit to sync, tried to do a timed exercise today on fitbit and had to manually log the time into MFP. i can to this but all the blogs say this it supposed to update magically! read all the blogs followed all the steps STILL NOT SYNCING!

I have noticed mine seems to take longer and longer to sink. It is taking about an hour or so after I sync.

I wonder if they are working on something. My syncing has been working fine until this afternoon.
January 22, 2012 4:19 PM
No, I don't think that's right. From what I've read, yes, we have to manually enter our exercise here. The food we enter here sync's over there. And if we've done exercise like, bicycling, or weights, or something that the monitor might not pick up it'll sync from here to there and they make the "adjustments". But don't quote me. I might be talking out of my butt, however, I just read something over there describing this exact thing. What we do there doesn't sync here, but what we do here sync's there.

Mine has been syncing from fitbit over here to MFP. It shows up here as "fitbit adjustment".
However, I wonder if there is a problem on the fitbit side. I've just looked at my historical data, and for me, anything over 2000 calories burned on fitbit shows here as fitbit adjustment. So if fitbit says I burned 2318 in a day, MFP shows a fitbit adjustment of approx. 318 (give or take 2-4).
But today I've walked more than most of my other days lately, and fitbit says I burned 1800 calories. Since that is under 2000, I think MFP is not pulling over anything. I'm going to check the fitbit forums.

I think there has been something wrong with the syncing between the fitbit and mfp accounts this weekend. Mine has been eventually syncing but not always right away (I've noticed a few others posting both here and on fitbit's forum). I don't think there is anything we can do to make our fitbit and mfp accounts sync, they just do. This weekend I've noticed they can take an hour or two (or maybe more) to sync. But if you are entering your workouts into mfp (not fitbit) as the instructions in the beta test group introduction specifies and your food into mfp (as specified), you should still have a good sense of where you are in meeting your food intake goals. And you can see your total burn for the day, so far by pressing the button on your tracker a few times until the calories roll around. Like some others, mine has been working just fine but has been a little strange this weekend, so I do think something is going on on this site or the communication between both. (My fitbit account is working as normal other than the sync with mfp though).

Denisev24, the instructions are to actually log your workouts here not on fitbit for a workout. The syncing works this way: enter food, water and workouts on mfp as the sync is mfp sends the data to fitbit (when it does this). The only things that come from fitbit to mfp so far are steps, sleep minutes and our fitbit activity adjustment which we only get when we exceed our stated activity level outside our workouts (remember when you indicated on this site whether you are sedentary, lightly active, etc.?) There is something off right now in my steps and sleep are not here today and this is the first day I've not had an adjustment yet. But normally it works. Just making sure you understand how it should work, as pushing the stopwatch on your fitbit to time a workout does not ever cause anything to transfer over to mfp. You always have to enter it in if you want it to show as a workout.

But since you say your fitbit doesn't work. What do you mean? Is your account set up fine? Are your tracker and fitbit account syncing with each other? Just checking as sometimes new fitbit owners have trouble setting up their account.

Hi, I've also had an adjustment every day since Ive joined as I have mine set to sedentary, but I haven't had one yet today. It may be that I haven't burned enough yet, but I do suspect something is delayed or different today (and yesterday it took a long time before the two synced). My steps listed in the check-in are from yesterday as well, so that hasn't updated.

Myfitnesspal is transferring over to Fitbit as far as the food goes but my excercise (fitbit adjustment) isn't updating from fitbit to MFP. What the heck???? It's been like this all day. sad

My fitbit sync is not working properly today either

*raises hand* Same here -- MFP info is carrying over to the Fitbit site, but not in reverse. I had some issues with the Fitbit site last night, so perhaps they're having issues of some kind?

Mine has not been syncing at all for a while now. I'm willing to wait.. I pay a good deal of attention so I learn to keep track in my head along with the tools. It will come back around and work soon!

Mine hasn't worked today either. Fitbit has all my exercise but mfp shows an exercise adjustment of 0 and I walked more than 10,000 steps. Kind of disappointing.

Like I posted in other threads, mine hasn't had a calorie adjustment since at least the 15th if not earlier unless I disconnect and reconnect here on mfp under the tools section.

I gave up on about 4 days ago after trying everything that was suggested to me but now that it seems others are having the same issue so maybe mine will work again eventually. It is very, very frustrating.

My fitbit adjustment is appearing today, so maybe the problem has resolved.

Me too - but maybe there is hope since the last poster is seeing adjustments now.

One appeared sometime in the night for me as well. Fingers crossed...

Similar to the rest, MFP is syncing to Fitbit, but not vice versa. And mine has not adjusted since Saturday. Frustrating. And no MFP response is more frustrating.

I've had an adjustment of 3 calories today already...which is strange because my "burn" so far is just under 1000, and I've logged over 1400 in calories.

I may just disconnect until the bugs get worked out.

Thought I'd try resetting fitbit by unlinking/relinking...now I get an error message and can't reconnect. Maybe they're working on it. Anyone? Anyone?

Mine took a while yesterday, but eventually worked itself out. It doesn't seem like any amount of looking and refreshing makes any difference.

Hello Everyone,

First of all, please accept our apologies for not getting back to you sooner on this. We're currently investigating the issues being reported and hope to have a more clear understanding of what might be happening very soon. As soon as I have more information, I'll update this post:

Once again, we're very sorry for not communicating about this earlier.

I can almost always get the "correct" fitbit adjustment by disconnecting and then reconnecting my fitbit and my mfp account. Is it frustrating? YES But, at least it's a valid workaround

i only enter food on anything on MFP, its my golden spot LOL! i dont track anything on the fitbit side. my setting is sedentary, so anything over that should show up. i have been very good about tracking my sleep and keeping my fitbit on 24/7 (made 10,000 steps yesterday YAY, hoping for same today!) i can manually enter my calories and activities into MFP but it would be nice to know what i should be entering. so far i have just been entering my workouts! i just hate duplicate entries, even though i am not entering twice. wish there was a way to sync this wirelessly so i wouldnt have to turn on computer to download information! the write-ups just made it sound like it would sync up nicely with MFP and all would be right with the world!
