Morning Ladies,

This morning was Weider X-Factor ST Week 7, dang this one really focuses on the core. First round of exercises are all in plank. smile

Michelle, Both you and Laurel are moving! noway I can see why you didn't want to tell the girls yet, they need to concentrate on school without having to worry about friends and what a new school is going to be like. wink Our oldest was one that has high anxiety, so totally understand. We didn't move her to a new school in our district, because she just freaked out. These Weider workouts come with the Perfect Push-Up stands and that is it. Every exercise is body weight only. Overall I really like these, and I have noticed an increase strength when doing push-ups and planks.

Laurel, Dang on having to move twice! That doesn't sound like fun at all. Good thing you have previous experience adjusting the STS workouts so that you are able to get them finished. That is a lot of driving, but I'm sure that you will do fine. Just wave toward Wisconsin when you pass! laugh I think that is why I do those 21's on my knees, I really want to get down low. In toe position I'm not able to get down as far. wink LOL about all those young people making you feel old. I do feel that way when we visit dd at college. bigsmile

Tami, I think that you will like these workouts. I think you will be fine using any of them for an add on to something else during your rotation. You can mark week 7 down as core, week 6 as lower body. laugh I can't remember the previous workouts. Doing two of them together wouldn't be difficult either. I have done that to catch up on a workout that I missed. Glad to hear that you are doing better.

jdavis, You can still probably use Muscle Max to build strength. Instead of doing the high reps, and going at the pace that Cathe does for the exercises, try doing the exercise in a two two count. That way you can increase the weight. The amount of weight you lift is what helps build strength. So when she is doing a one arm row, count up for two and down for two. You would probably be doing half the amount of reps that Cathe and crew are doing. Hope that helps.

Happy Valentines Day!
Laurie

Ya I can try that. I noticed my biceps are getting bigger. :).. This is my 4th week doing her video and I do cardio 3x per week. I found a workout routine from jamie eason in a fitness rx magazine. I might try that. I have a 100lb barbel at home. with 5, 10, 15 lb weights. The arm row I can do 15lbs.

heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart Happy Valentine's Dayheart heart heart heart heart heart heart

I have been a little misty eye this weeksad , not sure if it is TOM combined with pending 40th, the new assignment and my recent decision to start counselingnoway Needless to say I jumped back into workouts and my hips are sorebigsmile KCMM's Circuit burn squats with curtsy lunge is the culprit and I love itblushing Although I'm excited about the new place the thought of cold days are not exciting, yes it has been years since we did this and this time with two kids, a dog, large home and 2 storage units while driving from Texas to Massachusetts....OMG..

Laurie- Glad to see that she is not the only one who suffers with anxiety...unfortunately she takes it out on her skin so we are working on it with behavioral therapy. My mom started to exhibit panic attacks later in life so I'm hoping to teach her how to release and analyze her stressors to better prepare her for everythinglaugh

Laurel- Cross country is no fun but hopefully you will incorporate some sightseeing in our great stateswink We are planning on stopping in D.C. to take the girls to the Smithsonian, etc. Md, our old hometown and then hopefully N.Y. to see the Lion King.

Jdavis- I tend to develop quickly in the upper body, are your biceps growing from the Weider system?

Tami- Glad to hear that you have that daily connection with your sibling and I'm sure that your dad is happy to see that as he watches over both of youflowerforyou

Erika- I hope that you are holding steady with your full plate of surgery, hockey and more hockey and then your outside fulltime jobwink

OK dog owners I came home and Mr. C is not responding to me,he is staring off in space and is not himself... he was fine last night and this morningfrown I may call the vet as the only thing that we did different was administer his flea and heart pills I picked up yesterday.

Happy Valentine’s Day Ladies ~ heart heart heart

Hope you are all doing well and have fun plans with your sweeties! Cardio day today … Cathe’s BootCamp, which was lots of fun.smile No Cycling after work. DH is making a gourmet Valentines Dinner for us. Very sweet of him and I always prefer this over going out, just because it’s fun to be waited on at home and no crowds wink i always request a big salad in his menubigsmile

Laurie: Sounds like you might be feelin it later in the core region! bigsmile Yay, excited to try them out soon. Thanks again for the feedback. I remember you saying they are shorter which is what will be great for an “add-on” w/ other programs, including STS perhaps!

Laurel: Great workouts today! bigsmile Nice to hear about Turbo Barre since I haven’t tried that one yet. How do you like her Cardio Fusion? Yes, sisters are the best aren’t they.smile That’s so great you will be close to yours very soon with your move. Great news on the house! Yahoo. Great plan on STS. I’m here for ya!

Michelle: Nice job on the KCM workout! happy Those curtsy lunges are great, aren’t they? I bet you are a little misty eyed. Between TOM and finding out about your new move, it’s emotional and the pending 40th coming right up as well. ohwell All are deserving of a little mist in the eyes. sad You are a strong lady and I know you will make it through all of these things … take them all one at a time. flowerforyou You have the support of your wonderful family & friends and of course your MFP family here. I’m sure it’s the thoughts of what is to come and the unknown. Poor Mr C….. I would definitely get him into the vet if he is acting out of sorts like that. He may have had a reaction to the meds or something. I hope today is better for him and he is more himself.

HI Erika – Hope you are having a good Valentine’s Dayheart

Talk to you all tomorrow ~

Hi Ladies!! heart heart heart

So much catching up to do with all you ladies, you sure have been busy! wink I've been doing really well with the CLX workouts, but scaling back a bit on the cardio, as I'm just not feeling as motivated with that right now. I think my body is responding really nicely to the CLX program, but I tend to get really tired when I still keep up with the TF or running cardio days. So, I just do them when I feel like it...for now.

Things on the homefront with Cade have been rough. He's having problems with a cough and sore throat and spends most of the night up crying...it's been tough. I think it's just a side effect of the surgery, yet he's never had trouble with the last 2 surgeries. I just hope he snaps back to normal soon! ohwell Work has been ok...lots of changes still working their way down to us, but I'm trying to really just go with it, as I'm not having any luck finding openings outside the industry. I'm still hoping something pops up soon!

Tami--Great job on all the workouts...wowsa!!! bigsmile I hope you enjoy your dinner tonight! Mine is just me and the pups...the boys rushed in the door from school, changed and went right back out the door to hockey. They'll be home just in time for bed. Not really what I had in mind for the evening, but oh well!

Michelle--Wow, I can't believe you've got a move coming up too! noway That will be a big change to go from Texas to Boston, especially since you have gotten so comfortable in TX. I sure hope everything comes together nicely for the move, being that you've got your girls to uproot, and Mr. C to move along with everything!

Laurie--Sounds like you are getting a great burn in the arms, core...well everywhere! Love those workouts you're doing. I'm still on the fence with the Weider workouts...just don't know if I "need" them! laugh I'll have to wait for some more clips before I decide!

Laurel--Way to go on getting the back to back workouts in! bigsmile I admire your dedication and motivation to get the rotation condensed down into your remaining time at your current home. I hope the move is a smooth one for you, especially the drive. I used to be one that loved to drive long distances, but my current job has made me hate it. I bet with the end "prize" in mind of that lovely scenery, you'll do just fine! bigsmile

Well, off to make myself a Valentine's meal and catch some TV. I was able to get my CLX workout in tonight right after the boys left, so I'm ready to relax for a little bit! Have a great night!

Morning Ladies,

This morning was STS Disc 8 Back & Triceps. Feeling those two body parts right now. For endurance, these body parts are my favorite to work. Well except for the chin-up/pull-up portion. I like that she only does three sets of those. laugh Just not looking forward to the plate work in the legs for Friday. Why don't I like the plate work? Guess because it is tough on the legs! blushing

Michelle, I can't even imagine having to go from warm to cold weather, it sure will be a change for all of you. Dang sorry to hear that your hip is hurting you. Totally understand what you are doing with the stressors. My dd has a worry stone that she carries with her when she starts to feel anxiety. She loves it. My dd used her mouth (talking back, saying mean things). Then she would complain because kids didn't like her. frown I'm so glad that she has her stone now. happy Have Mr. C. checked out if he continues to act this way. Sometimes ours is off her food, but since she is a GS, she does have stomach issues once in a while. wink

Tami, I made healthy lasagna last night. It was good, but not as good as the stuff I make with tons of cheese. laugh I like these workouts with STS, and after next week I'm keeping them in and doing one a week instead of 3-4 times. Since I will be heading into Meso 2 I thought I might want to see how those weight workouts affect me. I may increase the days to two if all works well.

Erika, Those CLX workouts have a cardio aspect to them don't they? I have cut down on the cardio with this round of STS, and am really loving the way I'm feeling. I do my weight workout one day and cardio on the others. I am still seeing changes, so I must be doing ok with it. I haven't seen to many clips, except for the ones on the Weider site. Those don't really show how the system really is IMO. wink I'm the "do I need them" on the Jillian workouts. wink I want them, because I love Jillian, but do I need more of her workouts? huh

wiggins_j, Cathe has put out some really great workouts. If you have any question, just ask. wink

Have a great day!
Laurie

So does anyone else experience this? Since I have been doing her videos I wake up in the mornings feel really bloated and like I took in a lot of sodium which I don't I have been doing the same like I always do under 2500. Everyone said I should be eating more. I take in about 1310. Everyone said I should but up my cals. I haven't been losing or not much chance as of yet. Does anyone else feel like this in the mornings. I wake up hungry so it could be I should eat more cals?

Hi Ladies! Today was Power Hour followed by Cathe's Step Blast. Had fun with both workouts. I keep thinking it is about time physically that I start doing all of my step routines on 6" instead of 8", and I always do a few of them on 6". But I started Step Blast today at 6" and wasn't feeling I was working hard enough so upped it to 8". I guess, physically, I'm still up for the challenge....except for on workouts like IMAX3! Can't do that at 8" anymore, that's for certain.

jdavis, I like to combine Muscle Max with Cathe's Gym Style workouts. I really like that combo best for variety. But Laurie gave you a great option for using Muscle Max to gain more strength. It isn't necessary that you do both strength and endurance training, but it will give you better results if you do just because your body likes it when you switch things up a bit to 'shock' it.

wiggins, welcome! I have all of Cathe's older workouts too. I still find them to be so effective for me. Ask any questions you might have about her newer ones....because I have all of those too. blushing What can I say? I like Cathe. happy

Laurie, great job with the workouts. I was reading about these Weider workouts yesterday on videofitness.com and they sound like terrific workouts. I'm glad you introduced them to us because I probably wouldn't have paid any attention to them otherwise. I might look into them after this move. Last thing I need right now is one more thing to haul across the country....and move twice. ohwell Glad you're enjoying the STS workouts. I really appreciate you saying that you like how you feel doing less cardio on STS right now. I think part of my motivational issues last month was that I was really trying to push the cardio when, with STS, I just don't need to. I really feel like I've found a happy ground right now because really intense cardio on STS days is just too much for me. Glad to see I'm not alone in this one. flowerforyou Plate work IS tough on the legs. It isn't my favorite either, but I do like the results I get so I just go with it.

Erika, I'm so sorry to hear about your little boy not feeling well. I hope he gets better soon. I think if you are getting the response you like with CLX you should stick to it and not push the cardio (like I said above, sometimes it is just too much). Go with what is feeling good and what your body is responding to right now.

Tami, hope you enjoyed your dinner with DH. Sounds wonderful! My husband's idea of 'making' me dinner is serving me a turkey sandwich. grumble smile I was actually feeling that Turbo Barre workout this morning before I got into my workout....in the upper hips and glute region. So that tells me while it didn't feel particularly tough, it is effective. I really like Cardio Fusion. It's a blend of the cardio from Body Max 2, Low Impact Circuit, and Drill Max. There are a few premixes on it, and the main workout and the one premix I do (Mix and Max) are long (70 and 80 minutes respectively). But that particular series (Body Max 2, LIC, Butts and Guts and Drill Max) is, without a doubt, one of my favorite (if not my favorite) Cathe has ever done, so the fun factor for me is really high.

Michelle, I'm sorry about the misty eye! You've got alot going on now, and I can't imagine it is easy knowing you are moving soon and having to keep that from your girls. And I definitely understand about not looking forward to the colder weather. Colorado gets alot more snow and is colder than here, and I'm not looking forward to it. Your change is MUCH more drastic. But there is so much to see and do in the New England region, and hopefully that will be fun for all of you.

See you all tomorrow!

Yes I was thinking about just taking the routine and doing 3 sets of 10 for both upper and lower body. For the lower body I always add deadlifts to it at the end. I think I have did that that will work to. I really like the exercises! Maybe that's why I am not seeing results like I was when I did circuit training? What do you all think of this 3 sets of 10?

Good Evening Ladies! bigsmile

I got my TF Hiit workout it tonight, and happy to report my son is back to normal after several days of feeling lousy after surgery. But, now he's back to his slap happy, energetic and slightly naughty self! ohwell

Laurel--I like the combo for today's workout, and the fact that you upped the step to 8"! bigsmile Great job!

Laurie--I'm glad to hear that the lesser cardio is working well for you. I still have to find just the right mix, as I'm only doing weights 3 x per week (kinda stuck to that with total body workouts like CLX), so feel like I should be doing cardio the other 3 days, but would prefer to throw another weight day in there...maybe I'll have to attack the legs! laugh

Tami and Michelle--hello!bigsmile

Hi Ladies
This a.m. was STS #18 (Back/Bi’s) which felt great. wink DH wasn't home this eve so I came home & did Ultimate Ball for some ab/core work. A nice compliment to the back work this a.m. smile

Erika: So good to hear your CLX is going well for you and you’ve decided to do what you need to keep the motivation up there!  Smart thinking.  Glad to hear things on the homefront have improved! That's great news drinker Dinner was good. DH made Filet Mignon w/ an onion/blue cheese sauce, green salad and corn on the cob. Oh and he included a couple little Lobster Tails.  Can you say FILLING, OMG.  But it was so thoughtful and I loved being pampered.  He knows I don’t eat a lot of red meat so it is the one night he can totally get away with it. laugh Great job getting in your TF workout tonightwink

Laurie: Great job this a.m. on STS! Yes, it was chin-up/pull-up day for me too! I enjoy plate work since it is such a different feeling in the legs and “gets in there” as Cathe says! But tough yes smile Yum on the healthy lasagna.  Sounds like you have a nice plan in place for your STS Meso #2 and Weider. So far in Meso 2 I am feeling really good; I’ve gone heavier than before and still feeling great w/ it.

Laurel:  Awesome workouts today! bigsmile Sounds like your body is still handling the 8” just fine, good that you are trying the 6” first to see how you feel. Thanks for your thoughts on Cardio Fusion. Due to the Pre-Sale of those two new ones I was thinking of adding in another DVD to take advantage of that sale. blushing Cardio Fusion was one I was reading about and it does sound like lots of fun.  Do I “need” this one …… of course not, but the SALE might pull me in! Turbo Barre sounds like it did its job, very nice!  I am looking forward to trying this one.

Hi Michelleflowerforyou

Wiggins: great to hear from another Cathe fansmile

Talk to you all tomorrow

Morning Ladies,

This morning was Weider X-Factor ST Wk 7 and 30MTF TLC Boxing.

jdavis, I don't have that experience with bloating and lifting weight. If I have bloating it is usually related to something that I have eaten. I have found that (and this is going to sound weird), drinking raw apple cider vinegar helps with the bloating. Also putting lemon juice in your water helps also. The vinegar is something that you have to get used to (if you try it), because it taste horrible. ohwell I take it before I eat my three major meals. If you want more information on both subjects just google Tosa Reno.

Laurel, It does make me sad at times that I'm not able to do step workouts anymore. Dang knee! They where always so much fun. That Imax workout would probably be hard without a step. laugh I think that doing these Weider workouts with STS has been my wake up call for the less is more. There is cardio in these, but not constant. I also have been doing shadow boxing with these, and I'm loving that fact that I don't have to do traditional ab work. I'm seeing results in a shrinking stomach, that is something that didn't happen last time I did STS. Of course I think I'm eating better during this round also, guess that helps. Not that I'm not eating some processed foods, there is just no way that I can go clean. blushing

Erika, Glad to hear that you ds is back to normal, always makes us worried when they are not themselves. wink Doing an extra leg workout is not a bad idea. Those can get your hr up, and make it have a cardio aspect too. Glad to hear that you are still getting those CLX workouts done.

Tami, I love how we workout when we don't have family home! My youngest isn't going to be home tonight, so I was thinking "what can I do when I get home as far as exercise is concerned". I'm not usually one to think in those terms. DH is getting leftovers, so I don't have to do any cooking tonight. drinker Wish my DH would cook things like that! I do all the cooking, but he has to clean up my mess. laugh I figure that is a good deal, since he is enjoying my cooking. wink

Have a great day!

I have actually heard that. I have a subscription to the Oxygen Mags and that was in there. I think I wasn't eating enough. Yesterday I ate more than usually and I woke up fine.
February 16, 2012 9:14 AM
Hi Ladies! Today was another cardio day. I did Intensity which I continue to love. And then I felt like doing something different, so I did Cathe's Yoga Max from her new series. I enjoyed that! It certainly wasn't what I consider to be 'tough' yoga, even though it was the 'max' workout. But it went smoothly, and I like Cathe in it. I don't normally gel with Cathe and her stretching routines, so this one was a pleasant surprise. Glad I have it to add to my yoga library.

jdavis, I think 3 sets of 10 reps is ideal if you are looking at building strength/muscle. I think your idea is perfect for that. As far as the bloating, I was wondering if you were eating enough. I can get that way if I don't eat, but it usually hits me after I eat when I'm really hungry, not actually when I'm hungry. And as Laurie pointed out, it could be something you are eating. I don't normally bloat because of my workouts at all. Bloating has everything to do with my diet.

Erika, so happy to hear you son is feeling better. That must be a relief! Good job on the HiiT workout. Got to love that TF stuff!

Tami, I need to pull out that Ultimate Ball workout again. I really love that workout. Thank you for reminding me of it. Maybe I'll do it over the weekend as an add-on to STS. Your Valentine's Day dinner sounds amazing!! YUM! Cardio Fusion is a good one if you are looking at buying another Cathe workout. If you have questions on any others you don't have but might be interested in, let me know!

Laurie, great ideas for combating bloating. I've never heard about that and cider vinegar before. Not sure how anxious I am to give it a try, but it is good to know. I worry about step and my knees as well...and my achilles tendonitis. That's why I keep thinking I should take the step height back down again....to preserve my joints and my heels. I've been doing alot more step lately than I've done in quite awhile, and I'm concerned about overuse injuries right now. But I guess listening to my body works too, and my body is saying 'Do more!' for whatever reason. ohwell I agree on totally clean eating, though. I eat pretty cleanly, but I just can't go totally clean. I've tried, and it just doesn't work for me. I think I've found a pretty decent compromise though I think perfectly clean eaters would think my diet a disgrace! blushing tongue But it works for me!

Michelle, hope you are well,

See you tomorrow.

Laurel

Well I think it was that I wasn't eating enough. When I was bloated I was starving like in the mornings was when I would get it. I never experienced this before. I really do like the workouts. I think I can get great results from it. by doing it that way. I believe all of her exercises are great being used either way.

Hi Ladies ~

Today became my REST day after hitting the snooze yawn which is alright, that makes Saturday my Cardio day and having more time will be great! bigsmile Unless of course I can sneak a workout in tonight at home. DH is headed home from fishing so if he is running late I will do that. wink

Laurie: Nice combo of workouts today! smile I read in one of Tosca’s articles about drinking raw apple cider vinegar! A friend of mine who has bloating issues, etc has tried it and she said it helped. I think it’s so great you are getting the results you have been working so hard for. bigsmile I know just w/ the cycling and Turbo Kick classes that I started adding to my workouts a while back it has been a good Ab workout as well; along w/ various HiiT style workouts. I usually do all the cooking and most of the clean up huh Eventhough yes, he does know how to cook beautifully. He says that he knows I want to eat healthy dinners so he just lets me do it. ohwell

Laurel: Sounds like you had the perfect workouts today. smile Some high intensity cardio followed by a nice relaxing Yoga. I did try that one as well when I first got my LIS DVD’s. I like her in that one too. I remember the time going by pretty fast and I wasn’t looking at the TV like noway in any of the moves. You’re welcome! I know you have given me lots of reminders when I read about various workouts you are doing so glad I could re-pay the favor! wink I’ll definitely ask you if I have questions on any others that I might consider. Thanksflowerforyou

Hi Erika & Michelle - Hope you are both having a good day!

Talk to you all tomorrow,
Tami

Hi Ladies! Not much new to report...got in the last workout in the Push phase of CLX, and now on to lean...man, this is going fast!! bigsmile The boys went off to hockey again tonight, so I got to get my workout in earlier than 8pm!

Tami--I hope you enjoyed your rest day, I can't wait for mine (oh wait, I already took one this week laugh )!

Laurel--Great workouts today, I'm glad you liked the yoga. happy So, are you getting the warm weather we're having here? Mid 40's again for us...just unheard of in February!

Laurie--Nice workouts today! bigsmile I think I'm going to try to fit a leg day in, but it might not be until I do my next round of CLX, as the Lean phase utilizes upper and lower body with each workout, so it might be too much. We'll see!

Michelle--Hello!flowerforyou

Morning Ladies,

This morning was STS Disc 9 Legs! drinker Had to go in an up some of the 1RM's, they where just to low. laugh One more week of endurance, and then into Meso 2. I'm not taking a break, don't feel like I'm going to need it, and Cathe said is was ok to do. bigsmile Can't believe it is Friday already, this week just flew by.

jdavis, Glad that you felt better after upping your calories.

Laurel, I'm really glad to hear that the yoga workout was good, agree with you on her stretching. wink You are going to wear that Intensity DVD out! bigsmile Yes the vinegar is very strange, but I feel so much better taking it that I can ignore the taste. I'm actually getting used to it. laugh Hey if you are loving the step right now go for it. If anyone looked at my food intake they would be WHAT! also. I have to have my chips, so opt for baked. Went to frozen yogurt also, and I actually have my DH eating it also. This from a man that said he would NEVER eat frozen yogurt! laugh

Tami, I didn't do anything after I got home from work yesterday. I enjoyed having the house to myself for a change. wink For Meso 2 I'm planning on doing Cathe's Hiit or a Weider workout, kickboxing, BFBM, S90 Tabata and Cardio Challenge for my cardio. Will see how that goes with M2.

Erika, drinker on pushing through those phases of CLX! Are you planning on doing another round of the CLX phases. Have to say I don't know to much about CLX. How long is one rotation of it?

Have a great weekend!
Laurie

Hi Ladies. Happy Friday! Today's workout was STS Disk 22/Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. This is the week Cathe introduces drop sets. They normally kill me, but I got through them all right today. The one thing I like about them is the workouts just fly by. I followed it up with Paul Katami's Ab Lab. I really like that workout. And for more core challenge, I did MMA Fusion for my cardio. Too bad it isn't much of a cardio workout, but it went well today.

Tami, not a bad day for a rest day. Enjoy it! I agree that the yoga workout went quickly and there were no "pretzel" moves! No doubt that is one of the reasons I enjoyed it.

Erika, sounds the you are really enjoying CLX! That is terrific. Our weather is spring. Highs in the 50s and sunshine with some rain every few days. There is a chance for snow on Sunday, but I will believe it when I see it. Our flowers are up and blooming and the robins are back, so it really does seem like spring......without ever having had winter.

Laurie, sounds like STS is really going well for you. I can't believe you are almost finished with Meso 1. That flew by! No need to take a break before Meso 2 if you don't need to, that is certain. Great job!

Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Ladies & Happy Friday drinker

This a.m. was Muscle Endurance which felt really great.wink This one always brings back good memories since it was one of my only Cathe DVD’s for a while when I started with her. Love the endurance factor of this and I’m one of those crazy people who enjoy the step ups on the high step! Tonight I am headed to Spinning for my cardio. smile

Erika: Great job with CLX again! Sounds like this program is definitely keeping your motivation up and you are enjoying it, that’s awesome. bigsmile Did you get your new Oxygen magazine in the mail recently? I did and as always, I’m loving it. I’m very interested in the article on Pre-Workout/Post-Workout eating. Since I have been thinking about changing things up a little and often wonder about food before/after my workouts. ohwell tongue

Laurie: You are nearly caught up with me on STS! bigsmile Awesome. Good idea, if you don’t feel you need the REST week just keep going. I really like the idea of your additions to STS. I have thought of including a little S90 and now that I have the Weider workouts as well. Maybe this weekend I will have a chance to look those over and figure out which workouts would compliment STS for particular days. I know you mentioned Wk #7 as Core, Wk #6 as Lower Body. So many options and ideally I would like to fit these “additions” in during my a.m. workout. huh Ideas, options and only so much time.

Laurel: What a great lineup you had this a.m. happy Lots of work with some fun variety! Yesterday ended up being REST, there was no p.m. workout. DH was home when I got there so we had a relaxing dinner and a little TV. Not sure what I will do tomorrow for CARDIO but looking forward to it. Don’t have a lot of plans for the weekend so maybe I’ll double it up a bit like I did last Sat. Worked out nicely. Your weather sounds absolutely amazing. bigsmile We have been spoiled with definitely a mild winter. Last couple of days have been gray and cold with some snow flurries here & there. I guess it’s still officially winter so we have to go with it, right!?! Will you start your packing soon? huh

Hope you all enjoy the weekend! flowerforyou

Morning Ladies,

This morning was STS Disc 10 Chest, Shoulders & Biceps, really fried from all those drop sets and 21's. wink Sunday was Weider X-Factor ST Wk 8, another good workout.

Laurel, MMA Fusion isn't one of my favorite workouts. Just to much in the "strange" positions for me. laugh Glad you had a good weight and ab workout though. These workouts have goine by fast, but then I'm not doing them like you and Tami. wink Now this morning Cathe told me to take a week off. laugh Does she do that in each of the last three STS workouts for Meso 1? Why don't I remember that from the last round.

Tami, It has been a long time since I have gotten a magazine. I should get them on my Kindle now! I think that I can subscribe that way, will have to check it out. bigsmile If I put them in my kindle cloudl, I can look at them in color. wink Hope you have had a change to look at those workouts, many of them are geared toward the core. I hear you about the time, there are so many workouts that I want to do, but sometimes they don't fit with how my rotation is set up. wink

Have a wonderful day!

Aternoon Ladies,

This morning it was Cardio and Boxing with KCM, a great stress reliever and then cleaning and dinner finished by 10amblushing Did I say a great stress reliever and very productive too. We had a family meeting on Sunday and we told the girls about our move which turned out well but then after searching and researching their schools we realized that 1. Middle school and HS kids ride together this fall, 2. Elementary school starts at 9am and finishes at 3:08 and 3. Middlse school charges us $287.00 to use their school transportation and 4. Every wednesday the kids are released for Early dismissal at 12:15huh Yes, things are truly different theregrumble I was thinking that the move may be better as I would transfer to a new site, plus I have resignation issues...not sure why but it is very difficult for me to resign from a positionblushing Hubby has 2 tdy's scheduled this month which means that we can't put the house on the market until April 1st and hope that they give him a deferment date of July 1st to get there. So confused and stressed right nowsad

Erika- Glad that everything went well and is continuing to go smoothly..you deserve itwink

Laurel- Vinegar or warm lemon water helps to flush the system and relieves bloating, indigestion, and helps to filter the liver which helps to create bile for the breakdown of fats and the removal of toxins.

Laurie- I agree with you MMA Fusion requires too much contorting and these iffy knees can't handle the craziness of it alllaugh

Tami- Let us know how the Weider compares to other workouts once you try it as I still can not find anything on the program..plus I hate heading to Walmartlaugh

One of my girlfriends just came over and after talking about my stress, we will try to schedule some pampering time next week at the salon. For now it will be a glass of wine and a Michael Connelly book in the chaise.

Hi Ladies ~

Weekend went by way to fast (as always) ohwell but I am happy to report I had my first full night’s sleep since my dad passed away with no wake-ups on Friday night. It felt really good.bigsmile Sat night was good too. Got in a few good workouts. Sat was Insanity’s Plyo Circuit followed by Jillian’s 6W-6pack Level #2. Yesterday I did STS #16 (Chest/Shoulders/Tris) and played in our V-ball tourney for cardio. wink This a.m. was STS Legs and I will head to Turbo Kick tonight after work for a little cardio …. And I’m sure more lunges!

Laurie: Great job the workouts! bigsmile We both worked the similar muscles today. . . it is crazy how fast it feels like STS goes. Even doing the 6.5 mo rotation. I’m sure you can get Oxygen on your Kindle! That would be great & then you can have it with you all the time. wink I didn’t get a chance to preview any of the Weider workouts …. Are they the kind of workout that I could just plug in and go? That’s usually my method blushing but it’s helpful knowing which “Week #” to use for specific days/workouts that are on each week and the time frames of the workouts. It's probably all inside the nice neat little box that I just haven't gotten to yet. blushing wink

Michelle : Awesome morning of relieving some stress, getting in a good workout and finishing dinner all before 10 a.m. drinker I bet it feels good to have the family meeting so that your girls know. Sorry to hear that the schedule is a little “odd” from what you are used to. frown Hopefully with time and the adjustments it will all come together. When will you be giving your notice do you think? I’ll definitely keep you posted on the Weider workouts as I get them mixed into my regime here.wink Enjoy your wine & book ~ sounds like a perfect stress reliever! Very fun to have a spa day scheduled as well. I’m with ya on the WalMart experience. I usually make a B-line to whatever I am in there for and get in & out.

Laurel & Erika – Hope you all had great weekends! flowerforyou

Talk to you tomorrow,

Morning Ladies,

Weider X-Factor ST Week 8 and KCM's 30MTF Kickboxing Punch Mix where my workouts of choice this morning.

Michelle, I really enjoy Kelly's kickboixng/punching. I hope that she comes out with more of them. wink Hope you are able to get the school and house issues worked out. Our MS & HS are on the same bus also. frown That is a really late start time for the elementary, and of course early dismissal every Wed? What are you suppose to do with your child for the rest of the day? How nice to get a day of pampering scheduled. bigsmile

Tami, Glad to hear that you got some good rest! drinker You would have no problem just popping in one of those workouts. In the first round he demo's most of the exercises, and the ones he doesn't you already know what to do. wink I think between Insanity and Asylum you have probably done every exercise. Week 8 is a total body! This last one has 90 sec of tuck jumps right at the end of the last circuit. This is the first time that I have ever had to pause at the break. laugh These people could be in one of the Insanity DVD's! The girl in this was jumping so high I almost stopped my jumping just to look at her. laugh

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies. Sorry to miss check-in yesterday but DH was off and we were beginning to prepare for the move. It was also my rest day after 15 days straight! Needless to say, I needed it. But I got some good workouts in over the weekend and am on schedule to finish Meso 2 this weekend! Today's workout was High Reps which felt really easy to me...so easy that I actually felt like more weight work after so I followed it up with Cardio and Weights. Now my muscles are fried!

Tami, so happy to hear about the good night of sleep! I hope that continues. I, unfortunately, am headed into my usual pre-move insomnia. Last night I watched three episodes of 'Without a Trace' on ION during the middle of the night. I would rather have been sleeping. Looks like the movers will be here the last week in March so we still have lots of time to prepare.....thankfully! Great job on the workouts over the weekend!

Laurie, I couldn't possibly agree with you more about Cardio Fusion. Definitely don't like some of the moves in that workout. I don't remember how often Cathe says to take a break between STS cycles. But the reason for the break is because STS is a system of periodization just like P90X which is based on periods of high intensity followed by rest. That being said, I think if you feel up to moving on, you should. Periodization is something athletes use to enhance their training. I don't know about you, but my goal is to be fit, not compete in anything. That's why I don't worry too much about following hard, concrete rotations too much. So my vote is continue if you feel like continuing. Sounds like you are doing great with it.

Michelle, you have all of my sympathy on the pre-move stress. It is NEVER easy as much as I want it to be sometimes. I'm glad you were able to talk to your daughters about it. Hopefully you can delay your reporting date to make things a little easier....like selling the house. Hope you enjoyed the wine and book. Sounds like a perfect antidote to moving stress.

Erika, hope you are well.

Until tomorrow.

Laurel
