I joined today and have completed my food diary? I have a negative number in protein. Does this mean I've had too much or too little. I'm trying to learn to navigate this site, so far it seems great. So glad I found you all!

A negative means that you have gone over your protein goal for the day.

Green is "good" red is "bad", though the base line settings on here are a hotly contested topic. Depending on what your health requirements are based on exercise, medical needs, and goal, you may want to tweak them accordingly. Just an FYI.

Agree with above posters...although the one who mentioned protein didn't point out that being over on protein really isn't all that bad, the numbers from MFP are kinda low in this area. I set my protein number to be much higher!

Negative numbers in red mean that you've gone over your goal that day. Don't worry about going over on protein or fiber - many will tell you the protein goal on MFP is too low, and protein is important for weight loss; the fiber goal is a minimum you should hit a day. Watch your calories, carbs, and fat and keep them at/under the goals. Sugar, sodium and other options are personal choices. You can always change your goals for any trackable nutrient, as well as your fat-carb-protein rations under My Home -> Goals -> Change Goals -> Custom.
