SUGGESTION 1
I wish the food log would allow tracking of vitamins and minerals. It might even be nice if a user could define a product (such as a supplement or macro-nutrient) that they take and wish to track. For example, Bxx, D and K vitamins, fish oil, zinc, biotin...
SUGGESTION 2
I wish the report graphs would allow the user to select a value for a target threshold. For example the number of mg of cholesterol recommended by a doctor or the USDA or whatever. Pre-select boxes could be available as well as a "enter your own" box. The target would appear as a line on the graph.
The charts with percentages of USDA values fine for me as they are implemented.
SUGGESTION 3
I regularly eat more than three meals. Currently I am logging the foods into the three meals provided and the snack category. But being able to select how many meals are eaten by a user (or adding a meal to a day) would be helpful.
SUGGESTION 4
This may already be implemented, but I may just not have figured out how to use it... I would like a "my foods" tab that would give me a list of foods that are on a list that I define. I don't mean foods that I create, but rather a list that I can add foods to either by creating them or selecting them from the larger data base. The goal here is to speed the process of adding a food to a meal. Currently when I want to add a food to a meal, I try to remember when I last ate the food, then find the entry copy the description onto the clipboard, then ADD A FOOD to my meal, then paste from the clipboard into the search box to find the food and then add it to the meal. The little "frequently used foods" list is helpful, but I think a "my list of foods" list or tab would be helpful. Again, if you already have this, GREAT, but I haven't yet figured it out.
OTHER...
This site ROCKS. I think this site has enormous potential to help people! If it were up to me, I would make this site part of a mandatory curriculum in schools everywhere. It should start at about grade 4 and continue to be a thread in every health class through graduation (year 12). This is a wonderful resource as is!

Suggestion 3 - you can change the names and amount of meals - I've added a 'supplement' section, for example :-))
Go to the 'Food' tab, then select 'Settings'

Hi, there is another website Fit Day that tracks nutrients via a pie graph so you can see at a glance the relative amounts of carbs, fat and protein you've consumed for the day. They also have a bar graph to compare the calories you've eaten versus the calories you're supposed to eat for the day. I know our website already does this by giving numbers but it would be nice to have a graphic representation of the numbers. Fit Day also has a line graph to show weight loss over time. Again, graphics would be nice to have on our site.
On the other hand, I do appreciate the reminder that pops up when I eat too little for the day and I really feel great after completing an entry and out pops the message that if everyday were like today, I'd be such and such weight by a certain date. It makes me feel hopeful :-).

Just to add on, the pie graphs and more reports mode would be wonderful, but until that, it's enough to just have the program calculate the percentages of carbs, fat and protein. It would be VERY helpful.
I also do agree that having more graphics in the reports would be great. And maybe an extra report option: daily percentage values of carbs, protein and fat. |

If you use the mobile app, you can get a pie graph that shows the percentage of macros (carbs/protein/fats) per day and per week. I wish it was also available on the web site.
I second the suggestion for more meals. There is a limit of 6. I currently eat 7-8 very small meals a day, plus supplements. Some of these are the same almost every day and some are different. These are my categories: 1) Breakfast 2) Morning Snack 1, 3) Handful of supplements, 4) Morning Snack 2, 5) Lunch/Protein shake, 6) Afternoon snack 1, 7) Occasional afternoon snack 2, 8) Light dinner, 9) Occasional evening snack or dinner part 2. In MFP, I usually end up combining Breakfast and morning snack 1 under Breakfast, use the morning snack category for my handful of supplements (which are the same 5 days a week) combine morning snack 2 and lunch under the Lunch category, etc. The issue is the breakfast and lunch may be the same day after day, but snack could vary greatly, so having to combine them makes it harder to use the "copy meal from" feature.
